Replacing battery in Aeon Labs Minimote

I have a minimote (v2) with a battery that won’t hold a charge anymore. When I charge it, it works for about 10-15 minutes, and then it dies. Has anyone taken one of these apart to replace the battery?

I’m thinking if I can’t replace the battery, I’d like to take the innards and connect them to a different battery that is easier to replace. Just wondering if anyone has done this, or if I’m blazing a trail here.
