[RELEASE] Rental Lock Automater - Airbnb, VRBO, HomeAway, TripAdvisor, Booking, Expedia

Just use “smart lock guest access” via the life tab for now.

Three simple regressions going from LUM (and RLA) to SLGA:

  • You can’t see the codes after you create them
  • Although the SLGA notifications contain the user name, SLGA history does not
  • Cannot have a lock code apply to multiple locks

And, of course, all the per user and per lock actions that could be configured are now history.

Also missing from SLGA: for those who manage many properties, this adds hours of work every day, and the certainty of occasional human error. There is a reason I automated this.

Just found SLGA, thanks.

It works, so that’s at least got me out of a hole.

As has been pointed out, it’s incredibly limited compared to RLA. The automated lock updates from AirBnB were just perfect with RLA. I do hope it comes back.

Aurmur.com and Hospitable.com have Integrations.

“For now” meaning for now.

Thanks.

Aurmur looks like it’s got potential. There’s not a lot of info on how it’s configured, how codes are generated. Is anyone here using it?

Sounds like it’s limited to Airbnb, what if you’re listed on multiple sites, bookingcom etc?

Aurmur will take a iCal link. I am working on integrating OwnerRez with it. Just put the breaks on due to Holiday bookings at 100% occupancy across 12 units. Their support responds to emails in about 24 hours.

Oh nice, I also use OR, my yale locks use zwave though, wonder if that’s a problem.

I’m on iGMS thinking about trying Aurmur. Does it have a way of communicating codes through OR?

Seeing the same. In prep for this I changed names in LUM to include the code in the name, which appears to have carried over into SLGA.

Now the fun of manually managing codes while figuring out how to find a replacement for my lever locks that take SmartThings out of picture or integrates directly with lock vendor APIs.

And another little ditty I found is that while SLGA reports a lock being unlocked, it doesn’t report when they are locked thus requiring two new routines to deal with that. Plus I just realized LUM was handling my auto-relock as well as door open for xx mins logic. Ugh…

I was able to connect to SmartThings with Hospitable’s integration. I sees all my Schlage z-wave locks, even the ones that don’t show on their supported locks page. Hospitable is very light on information on how exactly it works so we shall see what happens as reservations start coming active in the next few weeks.

The main feature Hospitable is missing is Cleaner, Maintenance, Owner Codes, etc. Please suggest a feature request ASAP, hopefully we can get enough people to request it and they can add that in ASAP.

Interesting, are you already a hospitable user? If not, how much does it cost?

I have been using Hospitable for 5 years mostly for its great automating messaging features. It is $18/mo for up to 2 listings then a per listing after that. https://hospitable.com/?grsf=kiob5k

Hospitable says it does not overwrite existing codes. I already had owner, cleaner, etc set as permanent codes so those should stay. I assume you can set/change/add those using SLGA for now.

Is it possible to use Hospitable for locks and lock code communications while still using another channel manager for everything else?

Have you verified that it actually sets the guest codes? I set mine up too but I cant see the guest code in SLGA, only my original permanent codes.

Looks like i CAN see Hospitable provided guest entries in SLGA. However it was only able to successfully program half my locks.

Do you think it’s because those guests are already programmed in the lock and it’s running into issues with those pre-existing codes?
