I just wanted to report back here and say thanks again for all the help so far! Our build is taking longer than expected so we are only now finalising our plans for the electrics. I’m now getting busy formulating a plan based on all the suggestions here and wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without this community.
Having said that I do have something else I would like to ask about.
Our house is built over 2 floors which are separated by a thick concrete slab containing metal. I’ve been trying to figure out where would be the best location for the ST hub and I believe it would be in a central location in the main living space on the ground floor. However in this location I’m assuming the z-wave and wi-fi signals won’t pass easily through the slab which means I would need to set up some way of getting the signals to the second floor. Is it possible to set up a second hub in a secondary location with ST to act as a repeater? Or would I have to setup plug-in repeaters to carry the signal up the stairway?
