Building a new house advice

Hello Everyone,

New to the forum and wanted to make a post.

I am in the process of building a new house and looking for advice on home automation. I have been reading a lot of the posts on this forum and hearing people complain about reliability of smartthings has me a little worried.
Looking to use leviton Zwave switches (got a great deal on prime day)
Amazon Echo and Echo dot for voice commands
Echo Bee thermostat
Debating on August smart lock
Really wanting to use sonos speakers if possible
Harmony Hub in living room
Smart things sensors for turning on/off light switches when certain doors are opened or closed

Any input or help would be greatly appreciated!

Building New Home Wiring?

Hello, I am designing a new modest home with one main living space and two bedrooms. It is deep in the woods and I will be adding monitoring for that as well. Strangely there will be high-speed cable internet. I am looking for any design advise. I would like to add motion sensors throughout but with hard lines and battery backup. I like the Samsung pir sensor, but hate that I have to change batteries. Lighting, blinds, power monitoring, door/garage lock conditions, etc… If anyone has a comprehensive list of must haves that would help me greatly. Building a New Home. Need Help & Advice!

Hi Everyone. I’m new to the community as of today. My wife and I are in the process of building a new home and the contractor recently told me to start thinking about what I want the electrician to do. I hadn’t put much thought into a smart home before, but I have spent probably 50 hours of reading in the past 2 weeks. I have some questions and I wanted to share what I’m looking to do. I’m hoping you all can help guide me and/or offer some advice as far as setup, what brands, if I’m forgetting or missing something, etc. I apologize, but this is going to be long. Home Details: About 3,500 sq ft of living space on the first 2 floors. With basement is about 5,000, however basement is not going to be finished at this time.
