Pairing Aeotec Heavy Duty switch to Aeotec Smart hub

I have an Aeotec Smart Home Hub and an Aeotec Heavy Duty switch. The heavy duty switch is approx 30m from the Hub. I have downloaded the drivers for the heavy duty switch. However, when i press the action button on the heavy duty switch I cant get it to pair (ie i cant see the switch in my smartthings app).

Not sure if this is contributing to the issue but i have two different wifi networks in the same area.

I have not tried moving the hub close to the switch as i thought the distance was within spec.

Any advice appreciated thank you!

You should try it.

The wifi network available at the switch site is different to the wifi network linked to the hub, so i may have to firstly make one network - ill have to figure that out first , thanks

Use the hotspot of your smartphone with the exact same settings like SSID, password, 2.4/5 GHz, WPA2/WPA2.

Great idea, thanks!

If I have the correct device it is using Z-Wave so nothing to do with Wi-Fi. Nothing is mentioned on this support page about needing drivers so I would think the device is supported with standard Smartthings drivers.
Add device, Partner devices, Aeotec, Scan QR Code.

He wants to temporarily place his hub closer to the device, but his WiFi doesn’t cover that area.

There is an edge driver for the heavy duty switch provided by Aeotec - worth a try.

Thank you for the drivers link, the rf range for the switch should not require moving the hub.

Lots of people reporting various platform bugs yesterday, it might be worth just trying it again now.

Devices barely responding, status' not updating.... hub status not even showing offline when unplugged (15 July 2024)
