Basically, I’ve come home at times to find a light on, but in the app it still says ‘off’ and in the log it has no record of it being switched on.
The only way to turn it off - is to turn it on in the app, then turn it off again.
That’s why if I created a rule just to check if it was on whilst the mode was away - it probably wouldn’t work. Hence me thinking whether there could be 2 ways to skin a cat!
Definitely. The firmware update did help because the amount of times it happens has gone down, but there is still the odd occasion when it happens. Just thought I might be able to put a safety net in place in case it ever does happen.
For example, I’d hate to go away for 2 weeks and find that on the first day I’m away the light turns on and it stays on for 13 days straight.
You seriously do not need to delete the original devices. I just did some last night. Just reset the bulbs, attach to lightify gateway, update, delete from lightify, discover in smartthings.
We are working with Osram on updating bulbs directly connected to SmartThings Hubs… we have not announced a timeline for the release, but it should be coming soon
@Aaron updating Osram bulbs directly would be great. Im running an older… but at least stable bulb firmware purely because of the pain it was last time i updated them all. How will you announce this when available?
Hi @Aaron, any reason you know of why rejoining existing zigbee devices is not working for some users? Seems @Hilly_2015 needs to delete and rejoin an existing device for it to be seen by smartthings. Is this a known issue?
Just be aware that the GU10 lightify bulbs have this unpleasant habit of not turning off properly when connected to a Hue bridge if firmware has not been updated (via a lightify hub).
I ordered two, plugged them in yesterday and realised that turning them “off” will only dim them down to 5%.
Did some googling and apparantly its a common problem with GU10 lightify bulbs that have not been upgraded.
If you’re using Hue B Smart then change the transition time to 0, that should do it.
I also created a Scene using All 4 Hue (on Android) which dims the lights to 0% using a 0ms transition. It isn’t ideal as I have to go into and use the scene, but I primarily used ST anyway to be honest.
This resolves Osram Lightify, so this is providing it’s the same issue.
