[OBSOLETE] Eight Sleep (Connect) V1.0 [Eight Sleep Mattress and Cover]

Must be happening fairly often. Of the two I’ve purchased one of them (for my parents) has had nothing but problems (never a good thing in terms of me supporting them). Same issues with it going offline and complaining about the side connector being unplugged. We’ve gotten one replacement hub out of them so far but haven’t had the time to push it further. Very frustrating.

Nokia seems to have a new sleep tracker on the horizon that looks interesting and has IFTTT integration. But of course it won’t have the ability to heat the bed which is what my folks liked. Too bad Eight’s product seems to suffer from quality control issues.

@Alyc100 this is a bummer. It would serve them well to send you a new mattress cover in order to continue supporting this integration and community. (if you’re up to it). I’m reaching out to support to suggest this and sending them here.

Based on their feedback on Twitter and Facebook, I don’t think Eight are likely to respond to that request. Interesting to hear that considering we’re a small group of Eight users that a few of us have had similar issues with the smart cover. It’s always going to be a gamble when it comes to new products on crowdfunding sites.

I had the same issues with my smart cover. Eight would not send replacement as it was out of warranty. However out of the blue mine started working again. I thought some of the wires on the side had disconnected but they all seemed to be fine. I pulled and reinserted them and a few days later it started working. I am getting heart rate and respiratory readings again within the app. I don’t know how long it will last. I truly think Eight was ahead of the curve on this but their lack of support is going to eventually be their downfall. Many others are getting into the space unfortunately with closed eco systems that will not work with ST.

@Alyc100 Sorry to hear that :frowning: Have you thought about what you’ll do with the code and whether you’d consider handing it over? I’d be willing to look after it and keep it maintained.

Ever since my mid-November I keep finding my cover offline for random periods throughout the day. So the end might be near for mine too but I can look after until it’s gone.

Anyone have a hubitat hub… trying to port this device over and getting a bit stuck.

I have one and I’m getting stuck as well.

I actually got the code into hubitat and managed to successfully save the driver and the app.

My challenge occurs when I login through the app with my username and password.

Is that where you got stuck.

I get this error when I try to save the DTH:

Just got my 2nd replacement cover (3rd overall) delivered today. Will see how long this one lasts. Don’t care much for the stats since the ‘in-bed’ sensor has never been very reliable but being able to schedule the heating times and temperature is what keeps me hoping this works well for more than a few months. Here’s hoping some of the brand name heating pad companies get on board with some Wi-Fi units soon.

With the help of some great people, this finally starting to work in Hubitat.

Been following along over there…my Hubitat comes in tomorrow! Hopefully you can get the ‘in bed’ sensor working.

I know this isn’t being updated, but I’m curious if anyone has a suggestion as to why the devices wouldn’t be automatically created by the app. Setup seems to go fine, only thing I notice is the if I enter the smartapp and try to save it tells me “please fill out all required fields”. That being said if I exit and reenter all the data is saved.

Figured it out. For anyone’s reference, the hangup was trying to use the default text for the name of the device. That doesn’t allow saving.

When I save my credentials and setup the app, I only get one device (one side of the bed). Has anyone found a fix so that both sides of the bed show up?

I would try to reinstall it. Both sides of mine showed up. I installed the app twice in order to get the other eight mattress that I have but both sides of the beds show up in the app automatically.

It worked for me a few months ago. I’m interested in getting the Eight Pod now but I’m not sure its going to integrate.

Same, mine stopped working for the 3rd time.simce I bought it and after 1 replacementand only for customer service to tell me that I need to buy a new HUB???

I cant for some reason delete this app.

I get errors for “Its still in use”. I’ve tried deleting the app, the device handler, the devices, the smart app…etc…I just keep getting errors preventing it from being deleted.

Anyone else run into this problem and have a solution?
