No "Unlock" Option for Galaxy Device (October 23)

I have this problem too:sob::sob::sob::sob::sob:

Dont’ forget people: Samsung doesn’t care about you. They constantly mess people’s phones up through updates and unnecessary glitches. My Note20 Ultra randomly decided to not accept my PIN which I DID NOT forget. Once I forced it to restart by holding power and volume down then it allowed my pin but I was worried I would lose everything. Also, you can let it run out of battery so it’s obligated to power up. Maybe this will help. Otherwise there is softwared on the internet to force factory reset your phone but you will lose everything. Samsung also ruined by Note 9 which was an amazing phone. When I complained about it enough in the forums they simply banned me. What do you think about that? Next phone…Google Pixel.

Any updates? I don’t know what more to do. How do we reach out to Samsung dev team? I can’t find any

Found an email. Please do email them to request for the feature to be enabled: find@samsung.com

Is there no other way to unlock your phone if you forget the pattern? (I have a Galaxy S22)

I think an update will be later in the year. For now we all must suffer with the backup phones. But samsung has the ability to unlock them.

Not anymore. You will need to do a hard reset. Or wait like the rest of us and hope sansung brings back the remote unlock feature. Call them and complain and ask they submit your request fot this feature. Send an email.

Everyone IF YOU ONLY SEE THE LOCK BUTTON CLICK ON IT. A WINDOW WILL POP UP. MAKE SURE THAT THE PHONE YOU ARE TRYING TO UNLOCK IS TURNED ON. CLICK RETRY AND IT WILL ASK YOU TO LOCK IT AGAIN. YOU CAN ENTER A NEW PIN. ONCE YOU ENTER THE NEW PIN CLICK CONFIRM AND CLICK LOCK. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO USE THE NEW PIN YOU JUST MADE. VIOLA!!

That sounds like how it used to work a few months ago. The ‘Lock’ option basically acted like a one time PIN to let you get into your phone. I don’t know if you could reset a PIN/Password once you were in or whether you still needed to know the original, but at least it got you in so you could take mitigating actions to protect against data loss.

Then around about the time the ‘Unlock’ was permanently removed its behaviour changed. Instead of being a one time replacement for the existing security, it became an extra layer on top of the old PIN/Password. If they have changed it back to how it was then great.

I Just HAD TO UNLOCK MY PHONE AFTER A YEAR. I TURNED ON MY PHONE AND DID NOT REMEMBER PIN. I WENT TO SAMSUNG SMARTHING SELECTED THE PHONE AND SAW THE LOCK. CLICKED ON LOCK AND IT TOLD ME IT IS ALREADY LOCKED. UNDERNEATH I CLICKED RETRY AND IT ASKED ME TO ENTER A NEW PIN WHICH I DID. AFTER I LOCKED IT AGAIN I WAS ABLE TO USE THE NEW PIN ON THE PHONE. I JUST DID IT ON 2/22/2024!

I attempted this today, dont know why, when it never worked before the thousand times i tried. But does not work. Been locked out my phone since January 3, 2024. Glad it worked for you.

How about your data? Did you retrieve it?

Hello
I dont know if you managed somehow, but i am going to write here the solution of your problem number 2, since i had the same issue thinking i was not receiving the code from samsung account to verify 2 factor authentication. You have to click on send code button. Even though it looks like thats a verify button, because its under the _______ empty space where you would actually put the code they will send you. But you have to click the button send code in order to receive the sms. I hope this will help someone out there.

Regarding the other problem, my phone has been blocked since 22 feb 2024. Came here trying to find a solution without having to do facotyr reset. In the meantime i bought another samsung today (big mistake apparently)

I think the other person had an older version in their phone since they didnt use it for a long time. And you (and me) have the latest version of the apps and thats ehy it didnt work for you. I havent tried myself yet. Im scared. Dont want to lose anything on this phone.

They said they havent used the phone for a long time. So it all makes sense.

I was locked out of my phone 2 days ago. I bought a new samsung (i need a phone and im not going to factory reset my old one). What hapened in the new phone, i went directly to find my phone to turn on the feature Unlock remotely. It was there, available, as you can see. I clicked to enable it. I put the phone pin successfully, then i got this. It wasnt being enabled. What i did then i updated the app. I thought maybe theres going to be fixed. Surprise surprise, the option is not there anymore.

Hi there! I am currently facing an issue with my galaxy S23 device.
This morning i was using my phone as usual and suddenly my phone gets locked out and says this device is lost, when i try to turn off or restart it, it says this device is locked from find my mobile app.So i checked my samsung account and there is shows my last signed in device is my s23 but when i log into find my mobile with the same id it shows 0 registered devices, How is that POSSIBLE!!. Is there a way to unlock my phone coz the samsung’s customer care and service centers refused to

Yes I had access to my locked phone again.

you have to have remote unlock enabled for this to work.

In my samsung account which was logged into my device , in the find my mobile there it shows 0 registered devices so i dont have a clue how it got locked or how to open it.

In the Samsung Account it is perfectly reasonable for there to be 0 ‘registered devices’. I’m not exactly sure what the ‘registered devices’ are (I assumed things like buds or watches), but the phone isn’t one of them. Not for me anyway.

Are you saying when you login to https://smartthingsfind.samsung.com/ with your Samsung account the phone isn’t listed under ‘My Devices’? That would be odd as even if you disable ‘Find My Mobile’ in the phone settings it still appears there - it just can’t locate the phone.

It would be doubly odd as it rather sounds like your phone was locked using your account on the ‘Find My Mobile’ website and it doesn’t really make sense for it to not still be there, unless perhaps the phone was also remotely signed out from your account.
