New SmartThings Schema Integration for Arlo

I know you only hear when things go bad. But yesterday my Cameras were no longer communicating with ST. So I made the migration, no issues. Additionally, I was able to construct some automations that I could not accomplish previously.

I saw all of my Arlo devices offline last night, so I just opened the Arlo connected service and backed out then they were all back online. I guess that’s happened after the ‘syncing’ was performed.

I’m still not getting any motion triggering from the Arlo cameras in SmartThings even though the Arlo app reports the motion notification.

I’m still able to control On/Off and initiate recordings from SmartThings.

Mine are doing the same.

Arlo app - armed

Camera on

Automation - if motion detected then turn light on.

Arlo detects motion, records and sends notification.

However ST does not respond to the motion event.

Just wanted to see if there was an update on the syncing issue?

Thank you,

@douglaspitman we are in process of fixing and testing the script to apply the fix which is being done today. We are targeting running the script to fix the issues on 12/10. Please stay tuned and i shall provide an update tomorrow on our progress and status

@Jake_Mohl the motion event in your case is not received in the ST app right? i.e you don’t see “motion event” in the history section of the camera detail view in the ST app.

Thank you for both your help and response!

Also to indicate a note here. for users who are facing issues with the migration, if you are comfortable with deleting the existing integration and re-onboarding it, the issue should longer exist for you as it’s a fresh onboarding.

Though as mentioned previously, your setup with automation, scenes, and STHM will have to be re-created after fresh onboarding.

sharing the steps from the first post

  1. From the Home screen, select Menu (Menu icon) and tap on the gear icon.
  2. Navigate to the Linked services page and tap on the Arlo integration.
  3. Select More Options () and delete the integration.
  4. From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Device.
  5. Select Arlo and tap Camera > Arlo
  6. Choose a location and room, and touch Next to enter your Arlo account credentials.
  7. Select the Arlo cameras or lights to connect and tap Done.
  8. Tap Done again to complete the setup.

Hello,

I’m using webcore to automate some routine.

Since 2 days, webcore doesn’t get any motion from ST
I don’t know if I have been migrated. I had a custom mode on arlo app. Changed it to Arm. I have some automation in webcore to turn off the camera when we are home, and turn it on at night and when we are away. I use Arlo to record when we are not there but not using SMH to set an alarm.

When the camera is On on Arlo, It show as off on ST

Is there something I’m missing ?

Note : I can’t do the unlink of the service, i’m having an error : server or network issue

@shravan that’s is correct. On any of my cameras I can scroll back and see absolutely no motion event in the history.

Arlo notification

Arlo camera in SmartThings

@Jake_Mohl @shravan - I am also seeing the same issue with my Arlo Pro 2, Essentials, Essential XL camera’s. It just shows “No history”

@suddin could you please confirm that you have set the mode in Arlo to armed and in that mode, you have set it to detect motion?
Also did you onboard the integration fresh or you have been using the Arlo integration through ST for quite some time (i.e months)

We are running a fixed script for the migration for all users to fix issues for users who were migrated. we are expecting it to be completed by EOD or by midday tomorrow.

@Jake_Mohl @suddin please share your Samsung email account ID through DM and i shall let the team know to run the script specifically for your accts.

@shravan - Yes Shravan in Mode section I have 3 Devices

  1. Base Stations which has a bunch of Cameras (5 Arlo Pro 2, Alro Pro Floodlight)
  2. Arlo Video Doorbell (connected directly via WiFi)
  3. Essential XL Camera (connected directly via WiFi)

The Mode for all 3 is ARMED, and it is set to detect motion, and records till motion stops, and send notification via the Arlo app

I was using the Arlo integration for a while now, and then after seeing issues I deleted the integration and and did the integration but still seeing the same issue.

Also to play the live video from the iOS app I have to click the PLAY so many times, seems the play button does not work in one go. Not sure if this is an issue at end or for everyone.

I appear to be having the same issue as above.

  1. Yes
  2. Armed
  3. Will PM you separately

@shravan, et all - Just a quick update I have started received motion detection events all of a sudden. Not sure what changed but I can see them for all cameras.

Me too! I’m getting motion detection now from my Arlo Q+ and Pro 2 cameras.

I am having the same issue. However, it does show up in the test location. How do I make it show in the main location?

Under the old Arlo integration, i was able to view the arlo camera on my Samsung Smart TVs via the TVs Smartthings app months ago. Ever since this migration started, I am no longer able to view the cameras on the TV. I have migrated to the new integration and it restored function to my 5 Arlo Pro camera on the phone’s smartthings app, however, the TV functionality still does not work. I am still able to see my Ring doorbell on the TV but the Arlo cameras just will not load on the TV. Is it just me or something is missing?

Thanks

I see you’ve migrated me to the new integration. Now the Arlo’s are all uncontrollable and showing offline. I really wish you guys beta tested you work, it would primarily stop people asking how you are still in a job. This isn’t the best place to be if you wanna mess around with this kind of stuff, maybe at university under the tutelage of an experienced professor you’ll have more fun.

@shravan
If they have ran a script to fix the issues we are having mine is.still not responding to motion events
