Netatmo Additional Modules

@Dianoga @Tyler

Do we have any updates on this? as @krv mentioned I’m heavily invested into Netatmo with the hope of better controlling my household temperature and as is it’s almost useless for me because 3/4’s of my devices aren’t recognized by STs.

We are working with @Dianoga on the newest modules. We had a snag where (I believe) Netatmo changed the way they were handled oauth. We got it working for the production version of the connection manager app but need to make sure Brian’s new stuff is also working.

@Ben - I’ve actually found it’s not working on iOS at all (can’t even get my Netatmo setup). My buddy @krv told me he fixed his by setting it up on an Android device before using it on iOS. Unfortunately I don’t have one available today so I can’t test if that’s the case. I’m hoping you can get these fixes in place quickly, we’re scheduled to start getting hit with snow (not something you west coast transplants have to worry about!!) and I’d love to be able to get my heating under control through out the house!

It’s a bummer to get a bunch of new toy’s and not be able to play with them but I’ll quietly pound my feet / hands against the floor in the corner for now :smile: I’m actually more annoyed that I have to explain to my wife why it just doesn’t “work”. Oh well that’s my problem to solve :smiley:

I feel that. Working on it every day.

@Ben @Tyler @Dianoga

Any updates on the iOS fix?

Netatmo oAUTH is fixed on iOS.

Awesome. @Tyler Last night netatmo stopped updating at 11:10pm (netatmo itself was fine, but ST stopped getting updates) Is this related?

My last event log, “2015-01-23 4:10:04.777 AM UTC 15 hours ago”

Also, I just reinstalled, so I can confirm iOS auth works again, but still no additional modules. Any word on this?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if it’s related. I’ll definitely flag it though.

Can you try opening your installation of Netatmo (Connect) and “rediscovering” your sensors?

Netatmo had a few issues last night. My netatmo went down completely last night.

Also, even though they show up in the list if you select more than the “default” modules i think it confuses STs and it won’t pull data.

@tslagle13 It wasn’t netatmo, I had data from them every 5 minutes like clockwork last night and this morning through their channels. The data just wasn’t getting to ST.

@Tyler I installed the new app this afternoon when Aaron let me know the iOS oAuth had been fixed. (to see if I might see my additional modules) I haven’t had any problems since, which made me wonder if it was related.

If we can fast track the additional modules fix that @Dianoga finished last week, all would be right in the world. :slight_smile:

Thanks

@tslagle13 That’s true and different from before. I used to have all my additional modules checked, no problem. With this new update when I did that, it didn’t pull anything. It wasn’t until I checked only my base and outside modules that they finally showed up.

@Dianoga

I’m curious (and maybe it’s STs) why is the tempature set to a whole number even though Netatmo measures with a decimal? Is there anyway we can change this in future releases?

@Ben Any update on when the additional modules will be released?

additional modules, meaning the thermostat too I suppose? (wishful thinking) :smiley:

@Tyler - Hoping maybe you could give a little insight into the additional mods being added, looks like according to @Dianoga he submitted an update and it is waiting on STs to be approved (per an update ~23 days ago)

I saw testing on the physical devices today. I like the raun catcher device. We need to make sure things work before we release them. Novel, I know :slight_smile:

@Ben - QA is overrated!!!

On that note I feel like we would all benefit from an expectation setting on how long things like this take, considering the team’s priorities. If I knew it was going to take “8 weeks” I would check back after 8 weeks with no complaints… But right now I find myself checking back daily and getting frustrated when I don’t hear updates.

I hate to be that annoying person but just curious do we have any updates on this and / or any expectation setting comments?

I know Dianogo mentioned that he had submitted code a month ago today. I’m not sure if there was a major issue, this is a low priority, it typically takes this long to approve code, I honestly just don’t have any visibility into the process.

Hey all (but especially @craig),

We’re testing the changes required for additional modules. We ran into a few issues but are so far able to attribute them to our testing environment. We’re retesting and I hope to have an update for this thread tomorrow.

Good to hear. I have been holding off on the rain gauge and another module until this is fixed.
