Need help with Aeon Labs Dimmer DSC27103-ZWUS

So I had one of those remote control only fans and I modified it so I could run it with an in wall zwave controller and I installed 2 Aeon Labs Micro dimmers in the canopy, because the fan has lights above and below the fan blades. Everything has been added to my things and the fan appears to work as expected, but the dimmers are not responding. Upon powering everything up, one dimmer looks to be running at 100%, while the other doesnt appear to be on. Neither one will take commands from ST, but the hub is returning the status as if it did what I asked of it. Am I having a software issue? All the connections are good…

@maxduracell did you ever get this resolved? I have the same issue and I can’t seem to get the Dimmers to respond at all to adjustments. They are acting like on off switches only.

You got farther than I got. I only ever got them registered, and only after I did a general exclusion…or two. They would not respond for me at all. Luckily, Amazon’s return policy was solid. I ended up wiring the upper and lower lights together and installed a GE paddle dimmer.

unfortunately for me my house was built in 1929 and the box is too shallow for the GE switches… that was what I tried first! Thanks for your reply… Ill have to tinker with it a bit.

Bummer. If you figure it out let us know.

I have a few Aeon dimmers and they are very reliable. If you think it’s a software issue. You can install a temporary switch and see if manual on/off with a switch work first.
Could it be a range issue? How did you pair it to the hub? The fan case is metal? Do a z-wave repair and see if that helped.

HI (@Navat604 ) Ray -

I have purchased both the Aeotec Z-Wave Micro Dimmer, 2nd Edition (DSC270103-ZWUS) and the standard Switch (DSC18103-ZWUS). Notice in the photos attached what it looks like when simply adding them as a “thing”.

I did the standard binding protocol and alghoh they are bound the slider for the dimmer seems to nothing. It acts only as an on/ off switch? I have tried this with 3 different ones. Is there a different way of pairing them or a separate module I should be using?

I’d love to figure out if I need to add these a different way to get them stable. I plan to have a lot of them in my house and don’t really want to have to mess with taking faceplates off every time theres an issue. Its reassuring to hear you’ve have good luck with them.

Thanks,

Grayson
