Most member devices not updating in SmartThings Find

Anyone knows how to fix the Find app under SmartThings as I have 5 member devices normally showing up and refreshing their locations but since September 23-25, 2024, four of them are no longer refreshing. Only 1 continues to refresh and show updated location.

Devices that are not refreshing are primarily S23+ and S23 ultra devices. The only one showing up is an older version of the Galaxy fold.

Something certainly seems different about SmartThings Find in recent times. I only typically look at it if I am reinstalling a phone or tag so it can be weeks or even months before I notice changes.

For me, ‘Member devices’ no longer shows any phones, only tags, and although ‘My devices’ shows my own phone I am now referred to the SmartThings Find website for much of the functionality. Update at bottom of post.

I also note that Find My Mobile in my phone settings no longer refers to the SmartThings Find app within the SmartThings app, or to the SmartThings Find website. It instead refers to the separate Samsung Find app and Samsung Find website which I haven’t explored much but which seem to have restored some lost functionality that the Find My Mobile website once had.

Samsung Find has an option to nominate the device used for sharing the user’s location and there isn’t a default. The functionality doesn’t seem to be mirrored in the phone settings. It doesn’t seem to be relevant to the issue at hand but it is worth a mention.

I appreciate that Samsung Find was launched at the beginning of the year but I hadn’t heard a sniff about it until I had to replace my phone and came across it.

Update: In my case the issue was that Share this device’s location was not enabled in SmartThings Find for the missing phone. I don’t recall having had to explicitly do that in Find previously.
