[Migrated to Custom Capabilities] Rooms Manager: Smarter Rooms: Personalized rules based home automation with rooms Occupancy sensing from devices you already have in your home

thank you. i think i know whats going on here. let me figure out how to handle this scenario.

update to github with the following changes:

*  Version: 0.72.5
*
*   DONE:   8/30/2018
*	1) added humidity indicator to device occupancy DTH.
*	2) moved couple more room devices input settings to room devices page.
*	3) changed humidity from integer to decimal. humidity rules coming in next version.
*	4) coded and commented room restore settings since HE does not support updating settings input by user.
*	5) all room devices with multiple devices now use average values for illuminance, temperature etc.
*	6) changed some formatting for rooms manager settings on HE.
*	7) added support for critical device connectivity failure notification with SMS.
*	8) process temperature changes at a minimum interval of 30 seconds.
* 9) fixed a bug where new rooms were not being updated when using adjacent rooms.
*	10) cleaned up a bug here and there and optimized

coming next settings and rules to manage humidity.

meanwhile searching for why my humidity subscription was not working … ran in to this thread from a while ago:

that uses another humidity sensor to baseline what the value should be in places humidity fluctuates heavily like in a shower. then with that baseline + any offset turn on the shower exhaust fan as needed to get the humidity back to the baseline level.

the logics already written out.

Thanks Bangali,

It seems to have fixed some of my problems, but I now have a TV room where I wanted a button to change the status to engaged, and it doesnt do that - it does nothing.

I was previously having issues with this room, much like the other room, but the update fixed that part (nothing would save, even though it appeared it was saving in the other pages). This TV Room was also created after the room where I had adjoining rooms.

sure thing. glad to hear that one is fixed.

on the tv room try removing the button and save the room. then add the button and save the room again. see if that fixes it.

No it doesn’t. I just tried that.

I only added this button on today. But don’t work sadly. ST recognised the button press.

I got it working. All good now.

ok. you have the button in engaged settings or in room devices button settings?

when you press the button do you see a line like this in the IDE live logs?

[ae20578e-8f53-46de-8d73-…] 12:03:18 AM: info TV Room: buttonPushedEventHandler

for posterity … what was the issue?

User error!

Would it be possible to get an extra input?

I’d like in the asleep settings to have 1 more option. So that a mode change to night changes the room status to asleep. Alternate would be to allow house alarm (linked to ST) set to night mode sets room to asleep.

Thanks

Think I found a bug. In the locked settings for switches it appears to be a single choice radio button rather that a multi choice checkbox. Thanks still loving this app.

sure … will take a look and update.

will fix. thank you!

With regard to the asleep and ST mode changes, would it be possible to also add in a command that moves a room status away from ā€œasleepā€ when ST status changed to ā€œhomeā€ etc. Or when the alarm changes from ā€œarmed homeā€ to ā€œhomeā€. So, the reverse case of the scenario of mine a few posts up.

My room was still in asleep mode this morning, and I couldnt figure out why. There doesnt seem to be an easy way to get it out of asleep mode (or to put it easily into asleep mode).

I really like the whole shebang now that it’s working well, Thanks Bangali.

@bangali out bug hunting again i see from above :grinning:

Quick question, in relation to the average setting , I didn’t see any mention of it or setting in the app, therefore once two or more devices are associated with a property ie lux, humidity etc will it automatically average the result and use the average for the rule trigger?

on putting it in asleep state the options are any or multiple of these:

  1. using a sleep sensor
  2. using a button
  3. turning on a night light
  4. using power monitoring

on canceling asleep state the options are any or multiple of these

  1. using a sleep sensor
  2. using a button
  3. turning off a night light
  4. using power monitoring
  5. setting a asleep state timeout value
  6. contact sensor on bedroom door staying open for selected minutes

are none of the above an option for you?

i can certainly add an option to set and unset asleep state with mode changing to night. but wanted to check if any of the existing ones may be an option.

thank you. you are welcome.

one already in college … other headed to college in days … better half has better things to do … a mans got to have a hobby

right. temperature and lux already does. with the next release so will humidity. probably should have mentioned that somewhere.

I’ve been enjoying rooms manager for quite a while now ands have just added one more room (back yard patio area actually) to my setup - but in this ā€œroomā€ I need it to be triggered as occupied when the door contact opens and I can’t for the life of me find any settings to do that. Am I missing something by chance?

Cheers, Steve.

good to hear.

check the engaged settings for outside door flag. does that work?

Hi @bangali - Yes, I looked at that option, but the contact sensor setting there seems to only have the option to trigger on closed and not on open?
