Maxico Water Leak Sensor

Has anyone been able to add this water leak sensor to Smartthings?

I got it on a whim from Amazon, thinking it should be able to integrate as it is Zigbee. I have a Smartthings hub V2. If I try adding it, it chooses Zigbee thing driver. I guess I need an Edge driver for it, but I’m new to the whole custom driver process.

First, zigbee allows for many different profiles, so there are lots of Zigbee devices that don’t work with smartthings. We can talk more about that in detail if you’re interested, but otherwise, just don’t buy anything that doesn’t say it works with smartthings, at least in the reviews. You’ll save yourself a lot of headaches.

Ok, as far as the specific device: it’s a re-branded Tuya device, so you may be able to get it to work, but you’ll have to go through some research.

See the following FAQ:

Also, here’s the community FAQ on the edge driver installation process. If you read the first section of that, it should give you most of the information you need to follow the other threads in the forum. :sunglasses:

Sorry I was a bit slow, just got back from a trip. I followed the directions in the faq and posted a request.

Thanks to Mariano adding this to the Zigbee Moisture Sensor MC driver, it works a like a charm now.
