Before you remove the fan and retry install try these commands. The BOND uses Percentages for speed. Dimmer doesn’t function in mine either.
Commands for Alexa
"Discover my devices"
Turn Device on and off
"Alexa, turn on bedroom fan"
"Alexa, turn off bedroom fan"
Turn Device Light on and off
"Alexa, turn on bedroom light"
"Alexa, turn off bedroom light"
Fan Speed Setting
"Alexa, set bedroom fan to 50%"
"Alexa, set bedroom fan to 20%"
"Alexa, decrease bedroom fan 40%"
"Alexa, increase bedroom fan 10%"
Open the Bond application if not already open
Select the Ceiling fan you want to dim the light on
Find the icon for Dimmer
Press and hold the icon to raise and lower the brightness level if your fan support this. Single press to move the brightness up and down by 25 percent each press.
Nope - I had already done all the above, I set up 2 identical fans, one DID find the dimmer for lights, actually had 3 dimmers by default, all 3 worked I just delete 2.
The other one - just no dimmer. What I may do is delete it and have it re-find it. Support said they may be working on correcting this manually when it does not find a supported device.
Thanks for the question on the api for the BOND unit and appreciate the suggestion for using communities to help expand the capabilities of BOND. We are planning on introducing a public API in the first part of 2018.

That’s a hell of a lot of operating frequencies. It even covers Ademco sensors.
That is great news. I think this will open up BOND for garage door openers. But the problem is the rolling codes. But BOND staff said that end 2018 Garage doors are on the path.
I was tied of waiting for HD to stock the Wink Zigbee ceiling fan controller and not to mention I would have had to dropp $200 to outfit all my fans, so I picked up an installed the Bond today. It took a little while to figure out how to program my Casa Vieja Fans (I had to program each function individually) but now everything is working perfectly.
It will come down to whether they are proprietary frequencies and/or/using encryption.
For example, the bond doesn’t work with the Lutron maestro line or Insteon fan controllers. And there have been some reports that it isn’t working with all of the Casablanca fan models, just some of them.
@ernieg suggested in another thread just writing to bond customer support before you buy to see if your specific fan model has been verified as working. It looks like almost all of the one star reviews at Amazon are from people who have fan models that just don’t work with it. So it would be worth checking that upfront.
Hopefully they’ll eventually do like Linear does and publish a list on their website of the known models that it doesn’t work with.
I have been lucky all my Hunter and Hampton Bay work. The Hampton Bay State remote should be this month. They are a lot more complicated. I am very happy with the purchase. SmartThings support is in the works as I was told.
Mine still has some quirks. Echo has “lost” it a couple times, once a reboot of the Bond fixed it - 2nd - not really sure, I rebooted Bond. re-connecetd Echo , waved a magic wand and it worked.
One (of) 2 still is “confused” I’ll issue the turn on ceiling fan and the light comes on, then turn off ceiling fan and nothing, turn off front room light and the light goes off, then turn onn fan and the fan is on…
Quirks - can not DIM lights.
Lights actually are just a toggle - turn on, or turn off just changes the current state.
I just add the Bond to Alexa and Google Home yesterday. I found I cannot choose the fan speed or dim the light but just turning them on/off with the voice command. Am I missing anything? In the Bond app, the dimmer and the fan speed buttons work fine.
To choose a fan speed with the Amazon Echo you need to indicate a percentage. For example, “Alexa, set fan to 75 percent” will set my 3 speed fan to high. As far as I know, dimming via voice is not yet available
I decided to buy The Bond when it was on sale at HD/ and Amazon over the holidays. It works great and at 79.00, it was cheaper and simpler than replacing the switches for my two fans. I am now dipping into the actiontiles arena and while the bond works seamlessly with my echos I don’t think it can be added to smart things in order to get onto actiontiles. Am I wrong on this? Also, sorry if I should have started a new thread. I’ve been lurking here for a while but never had a reason to post.
So I too took the Bond plunge. Taking in the lessons learned from other Bond users, I knew that Alexa could just set my 3 speed remote to 25%, 50% and 75%. But I was looking for something easier then, “Alexa, set Living Room Ceiling Fan to 25%”. Plus, factoring in the times that Alexa doesn’t clearly understand long commands, I wanted it easier. So I made Alexa Routines. “Alexa, Living Room Ceiling Fan One” will set the Living Room fan to setting one, or low by executing the Smart Home command “Turn On Living Room Ceiling Fan to 25% percentage”. I repeated that for setting two (50%) and three (75%). I then repeated that for all of my fans. (I have 4). Then I made one more set of routines. Master Ceiling Fan One/Two/Three to set all of my fans to the same setting.
Like a lot of things, the initial pain is in the setup. But now I have a level of automation to my ceiling fans that I did not before.
Looking forward to official or community ST integration.
Just ordered one…was looking at other options but this appears it may provide the most gain for the least cost/pain (assuming ST integration arrives as expected) and the thing is reliable.
Very interested in this to control up to six ceiling fans we have. I think two are Hunter and four are Hampton Bay. All are about 12 or so years old w/a simple remote that has a light button that both toggles the light when pressed, and sets the light dim level when held, three fan speed buttons, fan off button, and the fan reverse button. We’re maybe a bit different in that except for one of them we only use the fans for cooling, don’t currently use the lights in them at all. Of course that might change if this makes the fan lights more easily available via the ST access that we are used to using.
So for now, w/out ST direct integration, sounds like I will need to set up a separate virtual switch for each fan for each fan speed I want to have access to (fan lights are not important to us except w/one fan we only use the fans for cooling), and also switches for fan off/fan on, and then tie them all into IFTTT.
I was poking around on IFTTT a bit to see the Bond and the site kept crashing…that was not encouraging.
@joelw135 - is the beta only testing the Stat remotes, or are there other features coming that you can talk about (assuming no NDA since you mentioned the Stat remotes). And how did you get into it?
No I think it is six. I have four now and it still will allow me to set up more. Remember this isn’t only for fans. Soon they will have AC units, and more to come.
