Lutron/SmartThings Device Limit

I have a home with 97 Lutron lights managed with a Homeworks QSX processor (not Caseta). When linked to SmartThings, only 32 devices appear in the SmartThings app. I don’t know where a limit is being hit and 32 is well under both the Lutron and SmartThings limits that I’ve been able to find.

Has anyone created a SmartThings integration with Lutron that has more than 32 devices?

I would contact Lutron support since they are responsible for the cloud→cloud integration.

Oh, I’m trying that too. So far they just redirect me to my installer who doesn’t know more. I need to get to someone who knows about the Lutron Cloud.

Hi, @Scott_Woyak
We can check with the engineering team of C2C integrations if they can share info about the error seen when onboarding the devices.
The response from the third-party cloud may be hitting the timeout for the response, since it only discovers some of them.
To get that information, we need the following, please:

  1. Suppport access to your account to extract the ID of your integration.
Instructions
  1. Confirm the email account registered in the forum is the same one you use for SmartThings. If not, please share it with me over DM
  2. Enable support access to your account:
  1. Go to the SmartThings Web (my.smartthings.com)
  2. Log in to your Samsung Account
  3. Select Menu (⋮) and choose Settings
  4. Toggle on Account Data Access
  5. Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again.

See more information about this access here: https://support.smartthings.com/hc/en-us/articles/36170233944852-Enabling-Account-Data-Access-for-Support

  1. A timestamp of when you installed it last time.

I have solved this problem. It turns out that Lutron let’s you “name” lights for Google or Alexa. It is only these lights that are made available via their cloud. I was only able to see these named lights via SmartThings. After setting more Alexa names in Lutron, those lights then became available via SmartThings. This wasn’t documented anywhere so it is likely others will be confused too.

Thanks for your help.

Glad you got it working, @Scott_Woyak. I hope this thread helps other people since you mentioned it isn’t documented on Lutron’s side.
Have a great day!
