Lowes website

Thank you for the LIFX find! I just picked up 4 in Bedford, NH!

All my local Loweā€™s deals have been for crap. Tho I considered this one so I could turn the Xmas lights on with Siri. But that should have been the original price, not $79! I would rather have the GE outdoor outlet so I can integrate it into ST.

Well the I at the beginning is why it costs twice what it should .

So is this it? Game over? I keep checking but never finding anything at discount with shipping any more. There are some partial discounts that ship but not huge insane discounts.

Maybe. But on the other hand, weā€™ve prematurely called it dead before, and after a week or two it was back.

From slickdeals:

`You canā€™t go wrong with Lutron Caseta. It comes with a Smart Hub and two in-wall dimmer.
I was able to order it in three different locations and had Lowes shipped to me.

zipcode 70001 - 3 still available at Harveyā€™s.

Someone can generate a list of stores with price and availability.`

Anyone confirm which locations have stock? Shipping available? Iā€™m away from a desktop so I canā€™t run the script unfortunately.

If your local Lowes store isnā€™t too far out the way, you may want to stop by anyway or maybe at least call. The West Raleigh store listed 1 and showed no stock by the time I got there, but me and another customer were able to get 1 each, the last remaining 2. I then went to North Raleigh which is listed as having 1 and of course the app and website showed none, but they also had 2 which I cleared out. They keep them in the cages near the front of the store so you can take a peek yourself. SKU# 669107.

Donā€™t know if they work with ST, was to concerned with how to explain yet another 3 boxes in the house to the wife.

They do not work with ST.

Figured as much. But thatā€™s ok. Iā€™ve come to realize not everything I have need to work with ST. My family are enjoying the few iDevices we have because they can control them thru Siri. Iā€™ll install these in places to keep them happy while I dive into more complex things.

My Lowes in Chicago had LIFX bulbs for 19.99 and the Iris Smart plug for 29.99.

Ugh, painful, I still need:

6xGE 12722
4xGE 12723
10xGE 12724
4xGE 12730

What if you call up a store and ask them to ship? Has anyone had any success doing that?

Iā€™ve only been successful when calling their customer support number. They then put you on hold, then call the store, get an approval from the manager and then put an order in for you. Iā€™ve not succeeded by calling the store directly (others have maybe). Looking at your list, unless everything is available for less at a single store, you may have to make multiple calls

While most of the deals have dried up, I did manage to buy a few nest protects (not thermostats  ) today for $50 each and after a renovo coupon for $44 each. The Holmdel, NJ location is the one I used. My order shipped in a matter of hours

You mean Nest Protects?

yeh I see the protects at 49 but not the thermostats.

Yes, you are right. Its the Nest Protects. Sorry for the confusion!

Any idea if they require neutral wires?

Many Lutron devices do not require a neutral wire, you just have to check each model. In general the Caseta line does not require a neutral and the Pro line does, but again check each model to be sure.

Although there is no direct integration with SmartThings, thereā€™s pretty good indirect integration with the Caseta line because both have an IFTTT channel. So it depends on your specific use cases. And how bad the IFTTT lag is at your house. ( and whether you want to pay the cost of a Caseta SmartBridge, since you need that for the IFTTT channel)

One) if you flip the switch at the wall, it works very quickly

Two) if you put the switch on a timed schedule, like coming on 15 minutes before sunset, or going off at 11 PM, you probably wonā€™t notice the extra lag

  1. if you want to turn off switches as part of a good night routine, you probably wonā€™t notice the extra lag

  2. if you are turning onto switch and one zone to control lights in another zone, like a switch in the bedroom turning on the outside lights, you probably wonā€™t notice the extra lag.

  3. when you will notice it is if you want a smart things ā€“ controlled motion sensor to turn on a Caseta switch. At my house, the IFTTT lag is a pretty consistent eight seconds. That would be too much for this particular use case.

So people can and do use Lutron Caseta switches with SmartThings, but itā€™s not a direct integration, so it all depends on your specific needs.
