The new Level Lock Plus (Matter) costs $329, and existing Level Plus owners can upgrade to Matter for free through January 14, 2025. But while they could support Thread, the Level Bolt, Lock, and Lock Touch aren’t eligible for this upgrade.

I assume like many others do that Level and their parent company are hoping to profit off of people not know to submit a request to update and after that period will have to purchase a new one to get feature.
Again not sure when as they have promised alot but I have read in many places where Level says they are planning to update bolt this year as well. Not sure how as it’s mid November, if they wanted to do that they would of held off on level lock + announcement until they could sell both but hey maybe they wanted to get this out in time for christmas.
Hey they just released update for Level Bolt. You need to request it on their site though. Cant say if it will still have 2 month period to request it like the level lock + but im telling you so you can start requesting now.
