Would anyone happen to know if the iris keypad, once setup, would arm and disarm the system if the hub is temporarily not connected to the internet? Thanks for any advice.
Nothing Can arm/disarm The system when the smartthings cloud is not available unless you have the ADT/smartthings model hub.
That’s because all of the other models depend on the cloud to maintain the smart home monitor armed state. 
You won’t even be able to arm/disarm it from the mobile app even if your phone is on the same Wi-Fi.
You have to be able to get a message to the cloud to change.the armed state.
