iPhone as presence sensor?

I’m brand new to SmartThings.

Is the iPhone supposed to work as a presence sensor, or do I need to configure something? I have Background App Refresh enabled for the App. I have Location Services turned on ( though I don’t see the SmartThings app in the list of Apps on the Location Services screen in settings.

Go to the “plus” at the bottom of the dashboard then go to “presence sensors” and select to setup “Mobile Presence”
