Integrating window shades with SmartThings (Axis Gear)

Awesome thanks, got the harmony hub, so that should be no problem. Is it possible you upload a clip to see it in action?

Sureā€“hereā€™s the integration w/ Amazon Echo in action. I need to put some insulation strips on the side and top of the window to fully block the lightā€“but otherwise it does a great job.

Looks very smooth indeed, thank you!

Thanks! If youā€™d like weā€™ll be sending out monthly updates on development if youā€™d like to keep in the know!

Thanks. Iā€™ve signed up for email updates via your website.

Perfect! Glad to have you on board. :innocent:

Congrats trung/ axis team! On 100+% funding!
Canā€™t wait for the blinds! The earlier link you send had 4 sets for $500 does that include z wave connectivity?

Thanks much

Hey Vick, thanks so much! That actually means a lot.

The price has actually gone up since the campaign, itā€™s now $560 for the four pack. The Z-wave chips are an additional $80 (or $20 per chip).

You can see more at: http://axis.life

Which connectivity option would I need to specify on Axis to work with smartthings in the UK?

I would recommend the ZigBee version for connecting AXIS Gear with SmartThings in the UK.

The Z-Wave chip weā€™re using for the first batch only works with NA frequencies due to limited time and financial resources at the moment. #startuplife

ZIgBee will definitely be your best!

Thanks, in the long run which will be the better performing standard (zwave/zigbee)? How close to shipping are you too btw? Iā€™ve sent you an inbox message with a little further detail as to why asking around shipping. Thanks. Ant

Thanks - ordered one to give it a test.

Bit of a surprise to see a $30 shipping fee on top of the $20 extra for Zigbee - $195 for a single unit is bordering on not competitive in the UK it would seemā€¦ i havnā€™t tried other products but it seems if you were kit out a full house some other products (that whilst expensive in isolation) may actually be cheaper for a full house that can also cope with things like multiple blinds for bay windows etc. I am planning to cover 12 windows i think when i move - is the shipping per order or per device ordered? i really hope the former

Will the full RRP also eliminate some of this cost? eg free choice of module or free shipping globally?

I am considering preordering a unit to try and my top priorities are ST and the beautiful app I see animations of. Will the app function once the device connects via zigbee to ST? Or does the app only work with the bluetooth version?

Congrats on your order! Weā€™re excited for you to receive your Gear!

For 12 units, the shipping cost would turn out to be around $3 or $4 dollars per unit. Other than that we are still ironing out some of details for RRP. However, I do know the cost to our company to add the chip in lies between $15 to $20. This is between the cost of the chip, certification, development, etc. Adding the Smart Home integration chips is more of a crowd-pleaser than it is a money-maker for our team!

Placed an order for 6 units ā€¦

Hoping they get delivered before xmasā€¦

The app will still work (via BTLE) when you are connected to ST. You can freely use both ST functionality and app functionality as you see fit!

Hey Devesh! I feel like weā€™ve communicated on every social platform by now!

Our goal is definitely to have the units delivered before Christmas (how perfect would that be!?) and our team is currently on track to meet this goal. :santa:

Will that app work remotely if I have smart home integration? Sometimes I open ST, sometimes I open the companies app.

Did the delivery date just shifted to early 2017?
