Is it safe to say that the Insteon 2845-222 does not work with the SmartThings hub I can’t get it to even see the sensor
Insteon uses its own protocol. It is not compatible with SmartThings.

Aeon makes A zwave sensor with a very similar form factor that is compatible with SmartThings if that helps any:
Does it require any reprogramming to work with the SmartThings hub like the Aeotech smart sensor 6 ?
It’s on the official compatibility list, so it should work fine. I know a number of community members are using it.

If you are looking for an open/ close sensor especially for a door, you may want to take a look at the “sensative strip” as well. It pairs very easily with the hub - very low profile, but you will want to be sure it will fit in your space. I am very pleased with this product. Good luck.
