IKEA’s new Matter-over-Thread devices work natively with SmartThings, expanding Matter offerings for one of the largest open smart home ecosystem

I picked up a few water leak, door/window sensors and the dual button. They work great so far.

Do we know if these new devices work well with the 2015 V2 hub?

As long as you have a thread border router - https://community.smartthings.com/t/using-matter-over-thread-devices-with-a-smartthings-v2-hub/306210

I have 3 of the MYGGBETT contact sensors connected to a ST v2 hub using a Moes (Tuya) Matter Bridge as my Thread Border Router. They have only been connected for a week but so far no problems.

I am interested to get those new IKEA temperature or air quality sensor using my echo show as thread border router with my v2 hub as well but no luck to get hold any of them sold out in my local IKEA, and still undecided if I should get a v3 hub or v4 as I have 3 zwave devices still

What kind of devices?

Aeotec zwave siren, one water sensor and one power plug, I would say the zwave siren is probably the only critical stuff to me until I found a reliable one to replace it, have been using it since I got the v2 hub

Easy:

Woox Siren or Frient smoke detector (Zigbee), IKEA KLIPPBOK (M/T), Eve Energy (M/T) → Aeotec Smart Home Hub 2 (V4).

Seconding Frient smoke and heat detectors, Klippbok too. IKEA have a Matter/Thread smart plug coming soon as well, apparently.

The Frient smoke detector has the siren as an actor, so you can trigger it from any routine or manually besides its intended function as a smoke alarm siren.

I recently bought IKEA smart plug (inspelning) for zigbee and it works pretty well (no special edge driver required) so I will look into the siren you guys suggested thanks

This should work fine. I don’t yet have any Thread devices but I’ve got a handful of Matter-over-Wi-Fi and Matter-over-Bridge devices connected to my SmartThings 2015/V2 hub and they work without issues.

I bought an Echo 4th Gen for any future Thread devices.

I’ve tried using the Echo as a TBR. However, the Alexa system rejects devices that it does not natively support, so you can’t for example onboard a water leak sensor to an Echo. The other way around works well - onboard e.g. the button remote to an ST hub and export it into the Alexa system.

You have to use the SmartThings app as a Matter commissioner, of course.

Hey just wondering does the power meter working as expected? Does the SmartThings energy recognize it’s consumption too?

Yes it works did not use smartthing energy
