IFTTT can’t see my SHP-DP609 smart door in SmartThings (want lock/unlock logs)

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to use IFTTT to collect lock/unlock logs for my smart door lock: SHP-DP609.

  • The lock is already connected to the SmartThings app on my iPhone and works there.

  • But when I set up IFTTT (SmartThings service → “Lock is locked/unlocked” trigger), my SHP-DP609 doesn’t appear as a selectable device under my SmartThings Location: “My Home.”

  • Because of that, I can’t build an IFTTT applet to log entries.

Has anyone gotten the SHP-DP609 to show up in IFTTT via SmartThings, or is this model/capability not exposed to IFTTT?
Any workaround to export lock/unlock events (to a Google Sheet, webhook, etc.) would be appreciated.

Details

  • Device: Samsung Smart Door Lock SHP-DP609

  • Phone: iPhone (iOS)

  • SmartThings app: (version)

  • SmartThings Location: My Home

  • IFTTT: SmartThings service connected and authorized

  • What I tried:

    1. Reconnected the SmartThings service in IFTTT and re-authorized device access

    2. Moved the lock between rooms in SmartThings and refreshed

    3. Checked for “Lock” capability events in the SmartThings app history

Questions

  1. Does the SHP-DP609 expose the standard Lock capability to third-party integrations (like IFTTT) through SmartThings?

  2. If not, is there a SmartThings Routine → Webhook/Notification → Logger type workaround?

  3. Any way to pull event history via the SmartThings API for this model?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, @testing_account

Can you check if this device has a device type of OCF in its details, please?

You need to go to the Advanced Users app > Devices section > look for the device > enter its details. There’s a “card” that says “Type”.

Also, check if the status of the lock capability is updated there as well. Sometimes, this type of device doesn’t expose all the capabilities’ value to the API. Since IFTTT is an “API_ONLY” app type, it only has access to what is exposed there.
