Let the hype begin. I remember Tapo announcing at the last IFA 2023 the P115M Matter smart plug and the P300M Matter power strip, where could they be?
Nanoleaf Sense+ Thread remotes were also announced in another show a long time ago, now they even removed the website saying “coming soon”.
It would take me half an hour from home to get there and ask them where the P300M is. But I already know the answer…
SwitchBot is debuting the Meter Pro at IFA. The site mentions SmartThings support but nothing about Matter, so must be via their C2C integration.
the following is only available in Europe for now:
The LED Bulb T2 is Aqara’s first line of smart bulbs that works over Thread and Zigbee
Now we’re talking, it’s a pretty good idea to allow both protocols so you don’t depend on their hub for Matter. I guess eventually we’ll see that in WiFi bulbs too (there are already some chips with WiFi and Thread and Thread 1.4 features recently announced would support that scenario).
And the Light Switch H2 EU is an instant buy for me to replace my last Tapo S210:
These Thread-enabled switches include Light Switch H2 EU, Dimmer Switch H2 EU, and Shutter Switch H2 EU. They support both Thread and Zigbee protocols, allowing users to choose between Thread for Matter compatibility or Zigbee for additional features.
I may get the H2 if they have switch input for 3-way setups. The article says it can work without neutral too.
Those curtains look promising and very tempting. They can literally bring the message home if you hate your neighbors.
I do that and I don’t hate my neighbors. They may or may not hate me.
