In my kitchen I have some ceiling Gu10 bulbs and also some under cabinet lighting led batten lights.
I currently have a zagusmart 2gang smart switch controlling these and it’s a bit unreliable.
Ideally I’d like to replace the gu10s with dimmable ones but the under cabinet lights aren’t dimmable and I don’t want to replace them.
So ideally I’d like a no neutral smart version of this non smart switch (zigbee of matter thread preferably) for Uk wiring and wall box. I’ve had a hunt and not seen anything. Anyone seen one I may have overlooked?
You will need to watch out with your ‘no neutral’ smart switch and your non-dimmable lights.
The ones I have seen require the lights to be dimmable even if there is no dimmer function.
I believe this is because: 1) in the off position the switch gets it’s low power by energising the lighting circuit (possibly intermittently); 2) in the on position the switch gets it’s low power by de-energising the lighting circuit (either partially or intermittently).
The latter can be counter intuitive, but think of a bird standing on an overhead power line; the bird draws no power because both its feet are at the same high voltage.
Open to correction if I have gotten this wrong.
