I recently acquired a used SmartThings Hub V3 and am completely stuck in a setup loop where the hub seems to be unable to connect to Samsung Servers (Static blue light on the hub).
After inspecting the back label, I noticed the exact model number is IM6001-V3P1-VF05,apperently indicating an Italian Vodafone “V-Home” branded unit.
I have already tried:
Full Hardware Factory Resets, Local Network & Router Configuration, Disconnected the Ethernet cable entirely and set up a dedicated 2.4 GHz WPA2 mobile hotspot via LTE/5G on a separate phone to rule out ISP-level routing
Since Vodafone Italia has discontinued the “V-Home” service, are these VF05 hubs hardcoded to seek proprietary provisioning endpoints that no longer exist?
Has anyone ever managed to flash stock V3 EU firmware onto one of these?
Otherwise this hardware would be E-waste - as far as I can tell
Vodafone “V-Home” branded hubs (-VF05) are permanently locked to Vodafone’s discontinued provisioning servers .
When Vodafone shut down the V-Home service, these units lost their ability to activate or connect to standard Samsung servers, effectively turning them into paperweights. Standard factory resets or network changes won’t bypass this, as the firmware is hardcoded to look for an endpoint that no longer exists.
There is currently no public method to flash stock Samsung V3 EU firmware onto them, so the hardware is sadly e-waste. Your best bet is to return it if you can and source an unbranded, standard retail SmartThings Hub V3 or Aeotec Smart Home Hub (v4).
Just to be clear I have a Spanish launched example which is now running perfectly 62.16. I did however update over 3 years ago and for a year it ran showing the Vodafone logo until one update around 4T 2025 made that disappear.
