Hub Firmware Release Notes 27.9

@Oops Isn’t it funny to notice how important ST has become in our homes? At the beginning I bought ST just to make living more easier and never thought that connection issues would prevent me to using lights or adjusting room temperature. Oh well… here we are…

About the problem:
Two of my sensors couldn’t get back online after they dropped off 15h ago. At the same time all my xiaomi sensors and few z-wave sensors dropped off but some how they managed to get back online.
This same thing happened on Wednesday too. That was major issue for me because only few of my sensors was able to wake up on their own. Most of sensors had to be paired again. So… guess I go and try to pair those two sensors once again.
Also yesterday I noticed that webcore-pistons were broken. There was a lot of pistons with unknown devices. I had to add devices back to pistons like they were before this whole thing started.

Tagging @Brad_ST i know there is a lot oning on on this but any update/sugestions?

Ever since update my Schlage locks don’t work. Some now list as offline. Notifications are also coming long after an event (like 5 minutes after a door is opened).

Quite the mess.

Tried to do a ZWave Repair in new app…did nothing, old app did nothing, website…nothing.

Rebooted Hub - No change.

v2 Hub

Update: It has now been several days and I still can’t do a Z Wave Network Repair (it just spins).
Many functions are either not working or working slowly.

Had a some minor IFTTT trigger issues yesterday. But seems to be working better now.

Hi Brad, I didn’t respond directly to you but this issue is not resolved by rebooting the system. I am seeing the zigbee radio turn on then off less than every minute. The status of the radio is always in a “Not Detected” state.

Nearly all of of my zigbee devices show offline. Rebooted hub (V2) makes no difference. Was working just fine before 27.9 update. Is there a fix or another update in the works?

I apologize. You can try a soft factory reset by following these directions:

  1. Disconnect the power cable from the Hub
  2. Using a pin or a small tool, hold down the reset button on the back of the Hub
  3. While continuing to hold down the reset button, replace the power cable
  4. When the LED on the front starts flashing yellow, release the button

If that fails to address the issue, the hub will likely need to be replaced unfortunately. If so, contact 1800Samsung or support@smartthings.com to arrange a replacement.

Hi @Brad_ST, resetting the hub did the trick. Hopefully, this was a fluke.

I appreciate your help. Thank you!

This worked for me. Not ideal but it’s more ideal than nothing working.

Thanks, seemed to have worked.

I have problems with the Zigbee lights (Gledopto and Hue).

Continuesly online, offline, online

What are the implications of the “soft factory reset” … Do I lose everything and have to reconfigure ? Any impact on SmartApps or automations, etc etc ?

A soft factory reset will cause the hub to download and apply the latest available firmware. The only configuration you would lose is the Wifi setup if you have a hub v3. Otherwise your automations, device pairings, etc. are left intact.

However, a hard factory reset will wipe everything and you’ll have to reconfigure. So you’ll want to be careful to not hold the button too long. If you do hold the button too long on accident, you should be able to keep holding it until the LED stops showing solid yellow. Not something I’d recommend testing out though.

Thanks Brad. What I’ve been experiencing for about a week or so is many of my Zigbee bulbs - which had been working perfectly and predictably - now are going offline, or randomly turning-on with no explanation. Or I will run a scene or turn on individually in the ST app, and it will be delayed action … sometimes for 30 seconds or more. Power-cycling the hub will clear things up momentarily, but generally the issue reoccurs shortly thereafter. Seems to be related to the last firmware update (I’m on 000.027.00009, Hub v2) and only is affecting these Zigbee bulbs. Do you think soft-factory-reset is applicable in this situation and worth the risk ?

I don’t think the soft reset would help but I can take a closer look. Do you have a support ticket # I could reference?

No ticket yet. I’ve been trying to get some sort of handle on the scope and details. Some basic troubleshooting.

Hallo Brad, here the same problem with Zigbee lights, starting from the update 27.9.

My ticket 801246.

The lights are intermittent online / offline.
The lights are connected to the Philips Hue bridge.

Hello, everyone. I am from China. I have a hub V3 and a connect home. Three days ago, my connect home and hub V3 began to crumble and broke off in half an hour. Today, after I deleted some ZigBee devices, it seemed good. I don’t know what’s going on here. My firmware is 27.9。

My ticket is 801710. I’ve had sensors randomly going offline in the past week or so. I’ve had to re-add various contact and motion senors that dropped offline. These are now stable and back on line.

Of the items still dropping off, the most persistent is a latest generation Samsung 3rd generation GP-U999SJVLBEA Motion Sensor which drops in and out all day. Less regular is a three pin Smartthings Smartplug.

Please help!

Thanks

Does anyone have Cooper Aspire dimmers? I have about 20 of them, and since the May release of 25.32, their status has not been shown correctly in the smartthings app. This prevents me from using one dimmer to control multiple dimmers in the same room.

This issue was noticed by @Nezmo in the release tread for 25.32 but never responded to by anyone else. Hub Firmware Release Notes - 25.32

I keep hoping a new update will solve this problem. But no dice.
