My Aeotec hub has been running for a number of years now, but since 2 weeks, the hubs keeps going Offline, Online and offline again.
Firmware: 000.055.00005
Tried a couple to leave it unplugged for 1 hour and then after starting up it seems to remain online for a couple of hours, but then it turns offline again. All the device offline messages drive me nuts.
Yesterdag it remained Online for 6 hours before going offline again.
The hub is connected via ethernet. Sofar today it switched between Offline and Online 4 times. Longest time it remained online was 4 hours and shortest time 5 minutes before going offline again.
In the Samsung online environment I see Zigbee functional āFalseā. Is this related?
What can I do to fix this?
Hi @Arnout , if you are comfortable accessing your internet router, check to see what IP address is being assigned to your SmartThings hub.
I had an issue with my V2 hub intermittently loosing internet access 2 years ago (going offline and online).
Checking my router IP assignment tables, my V2 hub had a spurious IP address that had no relation to my home network. I solved the problem permanently by using my internet router to fix the IP address of my V2 hub.
Itās worth a try. Let us know if this solves the problem.
Im having all devices not showing as connected on mineā¦
If you are talking about no devices connected to your hub, other people including myself are seeing this. It doesnāt seem to affect operations.
Yes i reset it and it still happend after like 2 hours but it wont let me manage my hub group now saying my station is offline but its not lol kinda sucks tbh
Hi Jaidank,
Thank you for the suggestion. I checked my Internet router and the IP address seems fine. A year ago when I replaced my router I defined a bind based on the MAC address, so the ST hub always receives the same IP address.
In the last 5 hours the hub went offline and online 5 timesā¦
Any other suggestions to check?
doubt this will resolve the issue but you can try a soft reset.
to perform a soft reset:
- unplug the power cord
- leave the Ethernet cable plugged in
- press a pin into the reset button on the back of the hub
- while continuing to press the pin, reinsert the power cord
- when you see the flashing yellow, release the pin from the reset slot.
wait a bit to see if it reconnects
a soft reset only resets the network settings on the hub but does not wipe out any devices that are connected
I believe you are going to need to reach out to ST support and let them investigate. in the app, tap on Menu and select Contact us
I have been quiet for a while since my hub remained online from Tuesday 24 Dec 10:16 until Wednesday 25 Dec 00:17, so 14 hours.
In the last 12 hours it has been going offline and online 8 times.
I will now try resetting the network settings as you suggested.
Removed the DHCP bind. Did a soft reset of the ST hub. Changed the ethernet cable and connected the hub to another port on my switch.
Hub stayed online for 25 hours and then started switching offline and online againā¦
