Hub and 2 ST plugs for £1 when you sign up to bulb

It’s absolutely shocking. I have ran out of contacts and channels to communicate. Nothing short of shambolic and probably an issue for trading standards. Would have never changed providers in the first place and only done so for the £1 meters,!!!

So update.

After sending another very long email to the only department at Samsung who has been even slightly helpful (support@smartthings.co.uk) I have received an email from Bulb Support apologising for the issue saying it was actually a problem their side (even though at the beginning of this Bulb had told me that I would have to take up the issue with Samsung as it was a Samsung freebie and offer).

Long story short, I was a bulb customer at a previous address, years ago, and that had confused Bulbs referral system, and effectively rejected the referral, so a request for a voucher never got sent to Samsung in the first place. I have been assured that Bulb have now contacted Samsung to rectify this and my voucher should be with me within 10 working days. So hopefully I have got there.

So anyone having this similar issue, it may also be worth contacting Bulb support (help@bulb.co.uk) as the issue may actually be their end (the support rep at bulb who has dealt with me is Adam M.).

I joined Bulb after seeing the offer on Samsung Members. How long from actually signing up until you received the email for you to claim your Hub & plugs?

HI Angela. Its about 5 weeks i think, i’m not completely sure what my date for the offer signup is. I go an email from ‘no-reply@m1.email.samsung.com’ with the title ‘your Bulb offer is ready’ with a 1 time use code to enter on the Samsung page, the items were delivered the next day by DPD. Just add that email address to your contacts so it wont end up in spam folder, i have a very enthusiastic spam filter sending most emails to spam :confused:

This offer is up again until 30 September 2020 (UK). It said that after the switch is complete with Bulb, we should receive an email from Samsung to get the Hub and 2 outlets for £1. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY EMAILS! THIS IS A SCAM!

Samsung Members team says to contact Samsung SmartThings, Samsung SmartThings says to contact Samsung Customer service and Samsung Customer Service says to contact Samsung SmartThings!
Disgusting attitude and this is FRAUD!

I had a headache with the offer but things got sorted and i can assure you the offer is a legitimate offer, i have the 2 plugs and hub for £1 myself. when did you apply? usually about 5 weeks you get an email so search your inbox and spam folder for an email with the title “your bulb offer is ready” from Samsung no-reply@m1.email.samsung.com. its worth adding this address to your contacts to prevent spam filtering it out. Try speaking to smartthings customer services through the online chat, i had most success through the chat and the person i spoke to was a customer service agent called HANNAH, a name that pops up across various forums ive seen in relation to this and seems to get things sorted and knows what she is talking about, that girl deserves a bonus whoever she is. Hope that helps a little and ill help with anything else if i can, just ask.

Yes I know bulb customer services are pretty bad with the responses at the best of times and at the moment everyone is on limited number of staff, i never got a proper response. But to be honest my gripe was regarding the offer and existing customers, joining bulb last July with smets1 meter i didnt quite meet the criteria and im now sure why or how i got the offer. Samsung previously gave me a link to sansung/bulb discounts portal and couldn’t get access to that either so I was getting so annoyed about it all i wasnt far off a full blown hissy fit but just as id had enough and giving in to the mother of all tantrums that email unexpectedly popped in my inbox with the code so… ooooh new toys, yay now I’m a happy girl. Kept me quiet for a few weeks and never got back to sorting out the access. Its only now the link appeared on my bulb account under settings on website, now I can see the portal but not a valid email apparently so I’ll go play with my toys again. Whatever reason I got the code it’s worked out in their favour cos I’ve spent £100 on smartthings I wouldn’t have spent if I hadn’t got that £1 hub

HI Webson, did you get this resolved? MY advice would be to check with Bulb that you are eligible for the offer and that they sent a referral to Samsung as without that Samsung wont have had your details to send you a offer email.

Nope! Bulb say the email is sent, Samsung say… well… nothing… Pure nightmare. I think I’m just going to switch again my energy provider as the only reason I switched to Bulb was that Samsung Offer.

Bulb told me that sometimes, when users have their own email domain (which is my case) rather than using a major email provider (Hotmail, Google, Yahoo etc…), the email is rejected by Samsung.
Is this true? Have you had these issues before?
