How to link google account to samsung account?

I noticed when I am asked to log into my sammy account to get into the IDE there is an option for Google authentication. How can I link my account to my google account (would be simpler)

Login to https://account.samsung.com and click on your profile and there is the option to link your google account.

I have been trying for months to link Google Assistant and Smartthings. I always get the same error (which I can’t remember now), but searching the web, many people seem to have the issue (and have been for years.

I tried to follow the instructions above. I got an error at https://account.samsung.com) :

Couldn’t sign in

Something went wrong while signing you in to your account. Try again. If this problem continues, contact Customer Support.

Sharing this code with Customer Support may help them solve this issue for you.

But simply trying again worked for me - sort of - I was able to login but I get this:

Account already connected
Your Google account (munged@gmailDOTcom) is already connected to your Samsung account

But essentially, it’s false. The UI STILL shows, under: Samsung account settings:
Google account: [off].
And my A14, which is registered under my google account, does NOT appear at https://smartthingsfind.samsung.com/ when I log in to the account which is connected to that google account (which it should!)
