Hi,
Is there a way to add my Grid Connect Powerboards / Powerpoints to Smart Things?
So I can enable Samsung smartthings automation with my existing Smartthings sensors.
Any help on this would be great.
Cheers.

Hey Ben,
They are wifi devices and it looks like they don’t even have IFTTT support, I don’t like your chances of integrating them with Smartthings. They have google assistant support so you could possibly send commands to them using google assistant relay but I couldn’t guarantee that would work either. I’m glad I looked into it as I was contemplating purchasing one of those portable a/c units from bunnings with grid connect but it looks like there’s no way of integrating it.
Hopefully Grid Connect reaches out to Samsung about intergrating its ( Tuya ) products.
Because I’ve also noticed the Australian version of the Smart things application is limted with the current devices you can intergrate compared to the US version.
I’ve also looked at trying a few work around solutions from this thread.
This might require Grid Connect customers to ask them about this, so they recognise that it would make a good selling point. If all us Aussies phoned the Grid Connect support number (1300 267 168) and asked when they’re going to support SmartThings, they might get the hint. I plan on calling them tomorrow.
I haven’t noticed this myself. Can you give an example?
Yeah I’ll do that to. Also might suggest for them to create a community forum aswell.
So smarthings now has an integration to Tuya. When you go to link it you can choose either Tuya or GridConnect.
I’ve tried both options and haven’t been able to get either one to show the device that I have connected to the Tuya/Grid Connect apps.
Has anyone been able to get this integration working?
The Tuya/Smartlife and related integrations are lacking to say the least.
The Tuya integration works better than the Smartlife integration for some reason.
If you open up each device in the Tuya/Smartlife or related apps using the edit icon it will tell you which 3rd party integrations are supported. Alexa and Google integrations are common, but Smartthings and IFTTT are not supported by many devices.
One work around for bulbs, plugs and switches is to create separate tap-to-run on and off automations for each device in the Tuya/Smartlife or related apps and these automations generally get imported into Smartthings even if the devices don’t get imported.
One problem is that these on/off automations will show as offline in Smartthings.
You need to link these automations to virtual switches using WebCore or Sharptools to make them usable.
This doesn’t work for cameras.
I have an Arlec downlight from Bunnings working in a rather strange way.
I removed the device from Grid Connect then added to the Tuya Smart Life app. I created two tap to run options in Tuya - one to turn on and the other to turn off.
Open smart things and select add new device; choose Tuya under brands and the tap to run switches will appear in your chosen room; create an automation in Smartthings - if: tap to run OFF switch is on, then turn tap to run ON switch off.
Doing this makes the off switch now work to switch the light on and off while showing the correct status. You can hide the on switch in the smartthings panel but don’t delete it because it is required for the Smartthings automation to work this way.
Still unfortunately after going through the process of adding a device through Tuya Smart then selecting Gridconnect none of my devices are showing up.
Thanks, Simon this worked perfectly I used Mirabella and Brilliant lights, but they stayed in the Mirabella App
This worked for me. Thanks for the solution!
I also recommend using Smart Life app - works for a number of rebranded Tuya products, incl Grid connect / Arlec
Any update on this?
