Help with Virtual Presence Sensor

Hi All!

I’m new to this forum and SmartThings and need a little bit of help.

I have everything up and running, but now I’m trying to figure out a way to get a virtual presence sensor working for when I have people over to let my dogs out. Currently I have a routine set to enable and disable the Smart Home Monitor and all seems to be working well with that.

While I was away from home today, I set up a virtual presence sensor. When I tapped the sensor to show it as home, the system didn’t disarm. I manually disarmed the system and tapped the sensor to show away and it didn’t reactive the Smart Home Monitor. Everything seems to be showing correctly, but the virtual sensor is just not activating/deactivating the alarm. Additionally, I made sure that the sensor was checked to be used to arm/disarm the system in the routine. I deleted and readied the sensor and still is not working. Any help is greatly appreciated!

What device handler did you assign to the virtual presence sensor? Hopefully the simulated presence sensor :slight_smile:

This is how I have it set. When I click to show the sensor as home it doesn’t disable the alarm.

Actually, I think I just figured it out! In the “additional settings” I found a timer and it was set for 10 minutes. Changed that to 0 and it started working.
