Unfortunately, the post that you linked to had to do with the old skill. Smartthings created a new Alexa skill a couple of months ago and it is broken. 
Smartthings engineering is aware of the issue and is working on it. There’s nothing that we as customers can do except be patient. Updates are being added to the following thread:
