Help a noob with under cabinet led products

Then get one of these Stainless Steel anti vandal switches that are momentary. They sell them with rings of LED (Green or Blue) . They can be threaded up into a cabinet and fill the outer edges with silicone to stabilize within the hole that is drilled. Then just wire up to the Fibaro for momentary button push. The LED ringed light may be advantageous in the dark even though it is pointing downward. It requires a seperate power wire as I recall.

Here is a Green one On Amazon

Being 12V, you could probably power it from the same PSU

If you don’t need to automate these lights with motion, etc. keep it simple and use a cheep RF remote designed to control the LEDs like this:

Relying on ST, Fibaro controller, internet and cloud connectivity to turn on the light is a bad idea IMO.
If you want to add GE Z-wave toggle switch that can directly control power and also allow automation that might be a good option.

I just installed some white LED strips for cabinet lighting and it turned out great. Approx $50 for LEDs and power supplies, parts, etc. and I will add a GE zwave toggle switch so these can be turned on/off with Alexa.
In hindsight I will probably go back and add some aluminum channels with diffuser for the LED strips so you don’t see the discrete LEDs in the reflection on the counter and backsplash.

Here is what I have right now. Excuse the mess, we’re still doing the backsplash:

Let me know if you cant access it.

In the event that we need the lights and there is no connection to the cloud, I could always plug it into the other plug on the GE receptacle. After I replace the light fixtures in the kitchen and eat in dining room area, the LEDs may never be used by her. The current lighting is poor at best.

The wife is adamant on a button somewhere, and totally against the switch. Had I known that from the beginning I would have planned this a bit differently.

Looking good. I had the volume up on my computer and my Alexa started turning the cabinet lights off and on!

Thanks.

Today I should be getting my breadboard jumpers so I can install the Fibaro. Then I’ll load a Fibaro device type to try and dim/change colors/etc. with Alexa and the ST app, instead of the remote that came with the LEDs.

After thats done, Ill button up the controller and power supply to the underside of the cabinet.

In a perfect world, I would fish the walls even though there are vertical studs (all studs are vertical) in these areas, but its a very time sensitive project. If any of the wiring fails, Ill fish the walls from the unfinished basement.
Theres really no way to traverse these areas easily, as the wiring would have to still exit the walls to get to the lights. Either in the cabinet (wife would be pi$$ed if I drilled holes inside them) or through the top of the tiled area, exposing the wires ever so slightly.

I just installed the OSRAM lightify LED strip system. Took all of 5 minute, very easy.
