Had to reconfigure my network to separate 2.4 and 5 bands and devices. So I can confirm that both devices are on the same 2.4g Wifi. This issue has never come up on any other device I’ve had unless I added them before my router had 5 G. On my iphone, ST times out after a bit and if I get a different erro if the Fan has already hits its 15-minute Matter limit.
Ok, lots to update here: I’m not sure where the errors are here, but there are plenty of them to go around. I tried Google home matter integration and for while got that to work (only tried on/off). I then decided to try ST again, at which time I got the aforementioned thermostat interface working (with allows you to control speed and mode, but not much else). At that point, I looked at Google and the device was offline, and so was the BT access to govee ap. So I did some separate diagnostics on my phone to confirm BT was working fine (re booted, checked status, and did a firmware update on my Yale lock). So I removed the “new” device in Google Home and tried to re add devices via the Govee services. The fan showed up again, with lots more features than ST- but they don’t actually do anything and one speed setting has a typo (LOL). So, I now have the “full” ST integration, Google home Icon, that does nothing, and a Govee App that won’t connect via BT. The latter is the most concerning, as the Govee Fan/Appl has lots of functionality, much more than any other fan I’ve seen. I sent an error report into Govee. Hopefully they have better support than Samsung and they can do some firmware/software updates…
Just an update. Doing the reset on the fan (per Govee Matter is not supported on ST), allowed me to access the Govee app. The ST Matter stayed, so I can have limited control there. The Goggle Access was removed.
It is also going to Google, even though matter is not officially supported! The interesting thing is that the google integration is better than the ST one.
Update for those that have the fan. If you remove and readd the fan you can now control its oscillating mode.
Thanks for the update. Unfortunately I can’t get it to reconnect. As I recall the first time this was tricky. Beyond the trick of having my phone on 2.4 GHZ wiif, any other thoughts?
So an update. I had to do two tricks 1) make sure I’m on the 2.4 GHZ wi-fi and 2) remove the prior entry from the Apple Matter association. This works fine for this, but while the oscillation shows up, it does to appear to do anything in ST and I get the warning the app is updating. … I also tried to get my floor lamp pro to connect, but alas it still does not work, even though the matter prompt comes up.
