Google Nest Cameras no longer report Motion Detected to ST

For 3 years I’ve had a great Routine set up where, if it’s after sunset and my front door camera detects motion, SmartThings turns on the pathway lights. Magic!

But since Google migrated the Nest Cameras from the Nest app to the Google Home app, unfortunately within SmartThings absolutely no events are being reported in the camera timeline. It just says “No activity” all day, ignore people, pets, doorbell presses on the Doorbell camera, and motion, and sound.

As a result, the Motion = Lights routine no longer works.

Does anyone know a fix or workaround? And is there a way to tag a ST developer who may be unaware and able to deploy a fix?

You should contact Google Nest Support as they own and maintain the integration to ST. So anything that was working before the migration to the home app is probably on their end. You can also contact ST Support secondary but doubt any fix will come from the ST side but never know if they will work with Google in identifying the issue. Whether it will get fixed is anyone’s guess.
