Well I’m running out of ideas. The Firefox thing worked wonders for me. In Chrome I only had a tick box for Authorise, where in Firefox I could actually pick each and every item I wanted.
yeah , so am I (running out of options)
thanks for trying tho
In both Chrome and Firefox I get to pick each and every item I want.
One last thing you can make sure is enabled. I just spotted it while looking into my activity. In ST app, go to Automation, then Smartapps at top, scroll down to Google, click on google, and make sure you have enabled the button for "Allow GA to access all devices and routines, and remember to save.
yeah , that’s also something…
I don’t have “Google” there as my smart app name … it is called “The Google Assistant” and “The Google Assistant” does not have that checkbox to enable “access all devices and routines” … it only has an uninstall option.
I’m still pretty convinced (based on reading a lot of threads of people where this actually works) that once I get that new “Google” smartapp (in stead of the very old “The Google Assistant” -> dates from January 2017) my troubles would be over.
I have no idea how to force my app to use “Google” in stead of “The Google Assistant” tho … all my apps are up to date.
Mine is version 1.25.81.28 where as on my G4 this was an earlier version. Maybe Google Home app is phone dependant. I just went to Google play to see what differences between the 2 apps Home and Assistant. Google Home app version is as above. When I went to Assistant it said wasn’t installed. I have just installed it now.
This does not make sense as I thought I already had it as I have been using for weeks now. But it didn’t give me the option to uninstall or update only to install it. I’m going to explore this now. Anyway make sure you have installed the Google Home app on your phone and not just the assistant. Does this even make any sense to you.
It does - I do have the Google Home app installed on my phone (I use it to control my Google Home and my Google Home Mini.)
Included screenshot shows “The Google Assistant” as my SmartApp … You probably have “Google” there , not “The Google Assistant” … Not sure how I can force the “Google” app to show up here, which is probably more recent. Not sure why they keep on giving me “The Google Assistant” when I link Smartthings and GH.
This “new one” is just an updated one. It now has call and message included in it. I didn’t know we had that yet in the uk.
Looking at your screen grab I don’t have Google Assistant associated in there. I have my ifttt, stringify webcore etc but not GA. So why is it in there, my bulbs all work in ST and GH (speaker) but are not associated with any " Google Assistant" like yours shows.
When you say the only option is uninstall earlier. I was not on about enabling in where your screen grab is. I was on about the main “Automation” window where all your smart apps are stored installed etc which is second from right along the bottom of the app next to “Market Place”. Google in there, that’s where you enable access. Not where your screen shot is. It may be the same but I can’t access it that way as it’s not there on my setup.
Ah yes, I see what you mean. The ‘Automation’ tab.
I just used an iphone to repeat the entire linking process (linking Samsung Smartthings with GH App) and now I have “Google” as a smartapp (next to The Google Assistant)
Still no go. (I also tried uninstalling The Google Assistant , since it seems I don’t need it anymore now, but that also didn’t bring my Tradfri into the GH app.)
Have you tried reboot of ST, sometimes it doesn’t appear immediately. Also remove bulb and add it again now you have option to access devices and routines. I think that’s about it, If I think of anything else I will get back to you.
thanks again. REALLY appreciate your time and brain.
Dear god.
There it is !
We did it.
Resetting the main Google Home device and then trying to pair with Samsung Smartthings again through the iPhone app did it (haven’t tried the Android one yet , after resetting Google Home)
Just as a note (and as you have stated here already). You’re NOT supposed to see the “The Google Assistant” or “Google” smartapp under your “light” settings like in screenshot
This is the thing I mentioned earlier about the Connect app not being compatible with SmartThings.
Here Samsung Home Connect will not connect to SmartThings App
I recently added EcoLink Tilt sensors to monitor my garage doors and none of them are shown in Google Home. I would like to ask Google Assistance what is the state of my Garage doors.
The steps I’ve taken are, ensuring Google has access to all devices and I even tried to unlink Google and SmartThings and reinstalled and my devices are still not showing up.
PS I looked to see if I could see a ST Multipurpose sensor and it’s also not showing it. The integration must not allow contacts.
Any idea’s?
