Did you get a chance to figure out what he did? How he rewired it? I have a similar issue with my 3way switch where I have
BOX1
White - Hot
RED - Travel
Black - Travel

BOX2
Red - Travel
Black - Travel
Red - Load

Trying to figure out how I can remember wire for a zooz
