I succesfully included Fibaro 223 in my ST Hub. There are just two things I am missing:

  • How to just tilt the blinds (venetian blinds). I can open or close, I can partially open with slider.I am used to just rotate my blinds in the morning. The same thing is working perfect with my Homey and RTS app on 6 other blinds in my house (Somfy My position).
  • I have impulse switch for blinds (Up connected to S1, Down to S2). Parameter #20 is set to 0 (momentary switches) but Figaro still works with one button only (#20:2).

Try pressing the Sync button on the device in the ST app. That should transmit any parameters you’ve set to the Fibaro. If you do that with live logging open in the IDE, I think you’ll see some log messages confirming what’s happening. If both switches don’t work after doing that, post or PM the logs.

On your tilt question… So the Fibaro is currently set to raise/lower the blinds? My understanding of the device from the manual is that it can either control up/down or tilt, but not both. Of course, I’ve never actually seen/played with one of these in real life, so hopefully someone with hands-on knowledge will chime in.

It is my First Fibaro. On other blinds I have Somfy RTS. There I can press button (on remote) short for uo/down or long for tilting. In Homey app I have control for both up/down and tilt. I can also store “My” position that is directly selectable.

The only problem is, that I have Homey on ground floor (with 6 RTS blinds) and 233 on the first floor and the signal is not strong enough to reach Homey so I have to use ST.

My iPhone ST App has no update button or at least I could not find any. In Live Logging I could see something like Syncing and Synced for my 223 device.

Blinds must go up and down, but the main point is, that you could let the light in to the room without the need for fully raise them

Hi, im a newbie on smarthings and all of its functions.

I have successfully installed a Fibaro roller shutter v3 by following the steps in this thread! works great, Big thank you @philh30 for the DH!

I use the roller shutter for my motorized awning on my house. I control all my light etc with google assistant at home and would love to control the awning like it was a dimmer. “hey google, open the awning 50%” But it seems like I can only say “turn on/off the awning” for it to go all the way out or all the way in.

The problem is that the stop for the motor is way to long out. I want it to stop at about 50%.

Do someone have any ideas of how I can set this up?

There are three curtains in my home, and two of them are able to control with the Fibaro Roller Shutter v3 through the SmartThings.

Unfortunately, the last one does not work. I am able to connect the FGR-223 with the SmartThings classic app by the method you guys mentioned before. However, the calibration process failed.

After clicking the calibration icon, I can hear some sound from the FGR-223, and the motor tries to move. But it stopped immediately. Sometimes, it can go for one direction, e.g. the curtain is closed, and will not be opened again. If I set the invert parameter, then the curtain will be able to be opened , but not closed.

As there is a spare FGR-223 on my hand, I have replaced it with another one. But the result remains the same. The following is the log. It would be great if you can help. Super thanks!

Hi guys. I also have an issue when trying to close/open the curtain. I’m using the classic app with the v2 hub. I managed to add the device correctly and added the DH mentioned, but when I hit calibrate button it just tries to move the curtain without making a full open/close movement. I changed some parameters and sync it but without success. Do you have any advise.

@Goliath Have you tried voice commands like you would with a dimmer switch? I’d suggest trying phrases like “set the awning to 50%”. I’m not sure whether Google Home has implemented roller shades capabilities yet (or if so, in a way that works with SmartThings), but this DH has the capability assigned that should let it pretend to be a dimmer switch.

@Dos_Lo The calibration process teaches the Fibaro where the upper and lower limits of the shade are. If that fails, then the Fibaro won’t work properly. Since you’re hearing an attempt to move when you hit calibrate, I think the DH is doing its job, which is just to send the calibration command to the Fibaro.

The actual calibration is done completely between the Fibaro and the motor, so I think your problem is probably with one of those two devices. Was the Fibaro you swapped in one that you confirmed to work elsewhere in the house? If so, then i think that should narrow down the problem to either the motor or the wiring between the motor and the Fibaro.

I’ve connected FGR-223 today. I have Hub V2, with FW version : 26.00012 which is newer than 25.27. i’m using the Classic App.
I can confirm that when pairing the module to my ST hub, it discovered sucessuflly and NO workaround was needed.

After some research, I guess the problem is in my motor. I use Somfy Glydea motor, each has a soft start feature. The calibration may be affected by this feature.

The previous successful calibration may be just because of luck. Because I tried to do the calibration again on one of the calibrated FGR-223. No settings were changed, but the calibration failed this time.

Some posts in other forum mentioned that the FGR-223 deal with the soft start feature poorly, and there was a firmware upgrade for that. However the firmware upgrade is only supported by the Fibaro Home Center.

So I want to remove the FGR-223 from the SmartThings, and connect it to a Home Center for the firmware upgrade. @philh30, may I know if the remove action is implemented in the DH? Thanks a lot.

I tried several times tonight, but failed to remove. Let me have a try again tomorrow and get the log.

I just did a quick searched from the source code. I cannot see “remove” in this handler, is this normal? As there is related code in the official handler for the FGR-222.

By the way, I tried to remove the device by clicking the button 3 times quickly, is this the correct operation?

A DTH doesn’t need code for device removal - removal is handled by ST and not by the DTH.

Per the manual, a triple click of the S1 button should trigger exclusion when the hub is in exclude mode. I don’t have one of these, so I can’t confirm.

Just an update.

The removal was completed by using “General Device Exclusion”. While it was failed by using the “remove” button inside the device setting page.

After adding the FGR-223 to the Fibaro Home Center 2, it works properly. The test was done on two FGR-223. However, in my opinion, the SmartThings app is much better than the Fibaro app or web. Moreover, the FGR-223 does not appear in the Google Home after linking the Fibaro account. There is an official document mentions this is not supported due to “safety” reason.

Hope this thread still is active. I am new with smartthings and are struggling with including Fibaro Roller Shutter 3 to my system. I have installed Device Handler according the list above. The problem comes in point 8: In the SmartThings app, go through the process to include the roller shutter. Nothing is coming up in search mode and I dont know what to select in manual mode. Options i have from the Fibaro device list is open/close sensor, dimmer/switch and some not relevant like smokedetector, remotecontrol.
I am using Hub v3 EU and the new app. Classic app tried as well with no luck.

Either pairing in the classic app or pairing the generic zwave device (in the other category) in the new app should work. Once in pairing mode, triple click the Fibaro S1 switch quickly.

In the new app, on the Add Device page, under All Brands there should be a category called Other. Under that category is a Generic Zwave Device option that should put the hub in inclusion mode.

In the classic app, just hitting the plus sign in the top right of the My Home page puts the hub on inclusion mode.
