Fibaro Door Sensor Gen 1 (FGK-101) Pairing in SmartThings

Hello everyone!

I recently discovered that I still had, as a spare, a Fibaro Gen 1 door/window sensor FGK-101 (never used). I tried to add it to the SmartThings hub, but the hub doesn’t discover it (even though I put the sensor in pairing mode)
Is this sensor no longer supported in SmartThings? Is there any option to add it?

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks in advance.

  • perform a z-wave exclusion on the device and then attempt to add it.
  • use a new battery
  • bring it near the hub when pairing

How can I exclude a device if I haven’t even managed to add it?! Anyway, I reset it according to the instructions on
fibaro website.

I already tried with a new battery or proximity to the hub.

Not working!

Try the exclusion next

You can exclude a Z-Wave device not connected to your ST hub by placing it near your ST hub, put your ST hub into exclusion mode, then put your device into exclusion per the manufacturer’s directions.

Follow the steps noted earlier in this thread by @jkp and @Paul_Oliver and try again!

FWIW, I have one of these devices in service and it works just fine. I did find, however, one brand of (cheapo) batteries didn’t last long. Make sure you have a fresh battery by a reputable brand for best results.

Good Luck! :yum:

Many thanks!
After excluding the device, according to the fibaro manual, I was able to add it.
Now, even though I also added a temperature sensor inside the door/window sensor in smartthings the Fibaro door/window sensors no longer display temperature. None! Being generation 1, it’s definitely a driver issue. Can this driver be changed?
