[Edge drivers] Aqara TVOC [custom edge driver link in #55]

Hi the same to me, tvoc is updated but humidity can take more than one day to update. Some one have some new update?

Has anyone found a working driver for the Aqara TVOC? I tried both about) above and only the VOC is reported, missing temperature and humidity.

It is doing all three for me. After installing the driver, I deleted the device and re-added it. That seems to have solved my issues.

My (iquix-driven) device reports temperature at 0,5°C changes, but Tvoc and humidity maybe every second day. How about yours?

I use Sharptools dashboard rules to force refresh every 10 minutes. Otherwise it rarely updates.

Deleting and re-adding with the iquix driver fixed it. Not sure of the update rate but some number is better than no number.

Same for me, I had to remove and add again the Aqara from SmartThings in order to get values for TCOV. Many thx for sharing your experience, I was trying since more than one hour to get it fixed

Hi, link You share is not working. Is there some working driver for that device?I try Xiaomi edge drivers but no luck. No data at all.
Regards.

Here is the detail of the driver I am using

Does this link help??

Hi, thank You. I add that driver and when I add device first time with qr code I get ppm, humidity and battery state (100% it’s new device).
Next I try to add second time to get temperature and I have only ppm value and battery (56%). I can’t fix that.

I just recently bought the Aqara TVOC sensor and can confirm that this driver works and am able to get all readings. TVOC was the fastest, temp a few minutes later, humidity about half an hour later, and the battery reading took a few hours to show up.

Hi @zincfusion, only the TVOC ppm is appearing for me. I’m also using the iquix driver. I’m wondering whether this might actually be a firmware issue rather than a driver issue. For some Aqara devices you can use SmartThings Advanced in web browser to see the firmware version, but apparently not this sensor. So for now that’s just a theory without proof.

If only I had an Aqara hub to let me check it. On principle I won’t buy one, I refuse to end up with 87,000 different manufacturers hubs and associated mobile apps. Only exception is the Philips Hue. But if another kind user were to buy me a new hub as a present… It may help us narrow down the problem (joke )

Hi @big_phil, you are right I can’t find the firmware version in Smartthings web interface too. I also don’t have the aqara hub to verify. I read this thread before I made the purchase and honestly was a gamble if it’ll worked but at least the device got a screen so I still can use it standalone if it didn’t.

Edge Driver URLs that have “Callaway“ are the ones that you use after you have already subscribed to the channel. They won’t work for people who have not yet subscribed.

Instead, please share the invitation link, which will have either “bestow“ or “invitation“ in its URL.

In this particular case, here is the invitation link for the @iquix edge driver for this device:

Edge Driver Installation Channel URL :
.
Samsung account

Also, for those only getting some information, not all, there are two possibilities that might help…

  1. If you already have the device connected to your smartthings account, and then you just change to this edge driver, it is possible that it won’t get configured correctly. So, instead, delete the device from your account, download the custom edge Driver, then re-add the device, and it should pick up the custom edge Driver, and configure correctly. (note that doing it This way will remove any automations you have using this device, but I am assuming that if you had a different edge driver, it wasn’t working so you weren’t using it. But be aware of this.)

  2. it is common for batterypowered Z wave and Zigbee devices to take about 24 hours before they have enough cycle reporting information to send the first details. So if a detail like battery level or luminance or TVOC is just blank, you might need to just wait a while longer. better quality Z wave devices often have a “configure” button, which you can press to get it to accept the new configuration more quickly, but Zigbee devices typically don’t.

Thanks for this @JDRoberts. Additionally it’s worth mentioning that (with this Aqara device at least) a quick double-click on the top button will force the device to send an immediate status update - and assuming your connection to the hub is good you’ll see the values update in the ST app immediately.

The humidity is not showing up

When did you pair it? Has it never showed humidity or is that a recent problem? Which driver and which version are you using? @Tin_Hwee_Wang

Just install. Been a day so was wondering it is still loading.

Ok, so that’s the exact same driver I’m using. Doubt your device is faulty, but check these:

  1. take the device very close to the hub (like 1-2cm, really close!!) And click the top button once. Watch the app at the same time, the values should change. Does that populate the missing value?

  2. did you install/try out another driver before the iquix one? If you did, and you simply switched drivers on the device, it might be worth trying to entirely delete it and re-add it with iquix. I saw on one of the forums that something can get corrupted and so it needs a fresh “add”

  3. unlikely , but … these devices have a design flaw in the battery compartment. Try folding up a bit of paper and putting it between the back cover and battery, so the battery is pressing harder against the contacts.

Let us know what the result is @Tin_Hwee_Wang
