Ecovacs Deebot T50 Pro Omni via Matter to ST Hub V2?

I have Ecovacs Deebot T50 PRO OMNI. It have Matter support.
I have SmartThings Hub V2, meaning it can only support Matter over Wifi and no support to Matter Over Tread.
I tried to pair my T50 to my SmartThings Hub V2. I click Add Device → Partner Devices → Matter → Add Without QC Code → Paste the Setup Code with 11 digits.
Then I’m getting Prepare Your Device screen. What to do next ? Do I need to press something on my T50 ?

I tried to contact Ecovacs support but seem like they don’t know any thing regarding Matter.

Any help is welcome!!! Thanks

This article have nothing to do with Matter connection, the word “Matter” is not mentioned.

I’m looking for a similar article that explain how to pair the T50 to SmartThing hub using Matter. I’m using SmartThings Hub V2, I think it should support Matter over Wi-Fi…

Again, any help is welcome…

AI to the rescue:

Based on available documentation and user reports for the Ecovacs Deebot T50 PRO OMNI’s Matter integration (which rolled out via firmware updates in early 2025), the “Prepare Your Device” screen in the SmartThings app is where the hub begins scanning the local WiFi network for the device after you enter the 11-digit setup code. This step assumes the Deebot is already in Matter commissioning (pairing) mode and connected to the same 2.4GHz WiFi network as your SmartThings Hub V2. If it’s not detecting, the issue is likely that the Deebot isn’t actively advertising itself yet— this requires initiating pairing mode from within the Ecovacs Home app.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to get past this screen and complete the pairing. (Note: Your Hub V2 fully supports Matter over WiFi, but ensure its firmware is updated via the SmartThings app under Devices > Hub > General > Check for updates.)

Prerequisites

  • WiFi Network: Both the Deebot and your Hub V2 must be on the same 2.4GHz WiFi network (not 5GHz-only, guest, or mobile hotspot). The Deebot doesn’t support Thread, so WiFi is required. Avoid VPNs, proxies, or hidden SSIDs.
  • App Versions: Use the latest Ecovacs Home app (v4.0+ for Matter support) and SmartThings app (v1.8+).
  • Proximity: Keep your phone, Hub V2, and Deebot within 30 feet of each other during setup, with no thick walls in between.
  • Firmware: In the Ecovacs Home app, check for Deebot updates (Device Settings > Firmware Update). Matter requires at least firmware 1.99.1 or later.

Steps to Put the Deebot into Matter Pairing Mode and Complete SmartThings Pairing

  1. Power On and Connect the Deebot:

    • Place the Deebot on its OMNI station (ensure it’s docked and charging).
    • Open the top cover and flip the power switch to “I” (ON). It should say something like “Ready to clean” or connect via the Ecovacs app.
    • Confirm it’s connected to your WiFi in the Ecovacs Home app (Device > Network Settings). If not, reset WiFi by pressing the RESET button under the top cover for 5 seconds until it beeps, then reconnect via the app.
  2. Enable Matter and Start Pairing Mode in the Ecovacs Home App:

    • Open the Ecovacs Home app and select your T50 PRO OMNI.
    • Go to Device Settings (gear icon, usually top-right).
    • Scroll to sections like YIKO Settings, Live View, or Map Settings—look for Matter Ecosystem (it appears after the firmware update enabling Matter).
    • Tap Matter Ecosystem > Add to Matter or Enable Matter (wording may vary slightly based on app version).
    • The app will prompt a firmware check/update if needed, then generate/display the 11-digit setup code (or QR code). This step automatically puts the Deebot into pairing mode for ~10-15 minutes—it starts broadcasting on the WiFi network for controllers like SmartThings to find it. Note the code if you haven’t already.
    • If you see an error (e.g., “Update failed”), force-close/reopen the app, restart the Deebot (power off/on), or check your internet connection. Some users report needing to try this 2-3 times.
  3. Pair in the SmartThings App (Resume from Where You Left Off):

    • Open the SmartThings app on your phone (must be on the same WiFi as the Hub/Deebot).
    • Go to Add Device > Partner Devices > Matter > Add Without QR Code.
    • Paste the fresh 11-digit code from the Ecovacs app (don’t reuse an old one, as pairing mode times out).
    • Tap Next—you’ll hit the “Prepare Your Device” screen again. Do not press anything on the Deebot itself; no physical button press is needed for Matter over WiFi on this model. The screen may say “Check your device’s manual” or “Ensure device is in pairing mode,” but for the T50, that’s handled by Step 2.
    • The app will now scan (it may take 30-90 seconds). Keep the screen active—don’t switch apps or lock your phone.
    • If detected, select the Deebot from the list, assign it to a room, and complete setup. It should appear in your SmartThings devices list for control (start/stop, modes, status).

Troubleshooting If It Still Sticks on “Prepare Your Device”

  • No Detection:
    • Restart everything: Power cycle the Hub V2 (unplug 30 seconds), restart your WiFi router, and restart the Deebot (switch off/on).
    • In Ecovacs app, disable/re-enable Matter Ecosystem to reset pairing mode.
    • Temporarily disable any WiFi extenders or mesh nodes—connect directly to your main router.
  • Code Issues: The 11-digit code expires after ~15 minutes or one use. Generate a new one each time.
  • Network Conflicts: Ensure no firewall blocks multicast traffic (UDP ports 5353, 5540 for Matter discovery). If using a mesh system like Google Nest or Eero, enable “IPV6” and “mDNS” in router settings.
  • App Glitches: Clear SmartThings app cache (phone settings > Apps > SmartThings > Storage > Clear Cache), or try on another phone.
  • Firmware/Hub Check: In SmartThings, confirm your Hub V2 shows “Matter over WiFi: Supported” under Hub details. Update if needed.
  • User reports indicate success with Home Assistant and Apple Home via similar auto-discovery after enabling in the Ecovacs app, so SmartThings should work analogously.

If these steps don’t resolve it, share screenshots of the Ecovacs app’s Matter section or any error messages for more targeted help. You could also post in the r/ecovacs or r/SmartThings subreddits with your exact firmware versions—community users have shared T50 Matter successes there recently. Hang in there; Matter setup can be finicky at first but works reliably once connected!

This request can not be accomplished since Hub V2 can be only connected by Wired.

Seems like my Wired device (like TV’s and ST hub) have IP Address like : 192.168.1.1xx , Gateway : 192.168.1.1
While my Wireless devices (like mobile phones, Ecovacs T50, Alexa) have IP address like : 192.168.31.xxx, Gateway 192.168.31.1.

I’m not a network expert but do you think this can be the reason ? If yes, What can I do to solve this.

Just make sure that everything involved (hub, device, smartphone) is in the same network. The netmask for your networks is probably 255.255.0.0, so your hub and your device and smartphone are on different networks.

When you get it working, please let us know what functionality is supported, specifically room control?

Success !!

  1. I Manage to change the IP address so, now my Wifi devices are also having IP like 192.168.1.xxx
I used Proplexty chat in order to get instructions. If someone need instructions I can forward the steps.

  2. I reset or reboot everything T50 ,SmartThings hub.

  3. I used @Andreas_Roedl article the part of Pair in the SmartThings App. I notice that the “Prepare Your Device” section (where I stuck last time) might take 30-90 seconds. So I waited long enough without doing anything in my T50.

After 30 seconds my T50 discovered with my SmartThings Hub V2 !!

@Wajo357 the functionality support are:

  1. T50 Status
  2. T50 Cleaning mode. Vacuum and Mop, Vacuum only , Moping, Mop after Vacuum.
  3. Cleaning area can be selected.
