EcoDim 0.5 Dual Dimmer Zigbee

Hi,
I’m new to SmartThings. I installed the Aeotec Smart Home hub today and added an EcoDim 0.5 dual dimmer. Smartthings detects it as a Zigbee switch. Only the right dimmer is working. What am I doing wrong?

Kind regards, Marcel

Welcome! I’m sure that’s frustrating. :disappointed_relieved:

Most likely, there’s no existing edge Driver with an exact fingerprint match to your device. That’s the usual reason you get limited functionality.

Start by reading the first section of the following FAQ, and it will give you the basic terminology and concepts.

FAQ: I have no idea what Edge is. Is that a new developer tool? (2022)

Although it looks like it probably is not a Tuya product, you can still follow the instructions in the following FAQ to get the fingerprint and then make a driver request. (You can probably skip steps 3 through 5 unless a community developer asks you to check the clusters.)

FAQ: Using Tuya Zigbee Devices Directly With a SmartThings/Aeotec Hub (2024)

The thing is that it is already mentioned here:

(EDGE Driver-Mc): Zigbee Switch Mc, Zigbee Switch Power Mc, Zigbee Multi Switch and Child Mc - Devices & Integrations / Community Created Device Types - SmartThings Community

I’m not sure what to do to use that driver.

Ok, that’s good news. :sunglasses:

Did you read the first FAQ yet on using edge? All drivers are added in the same way. See D. And E. In the FAQ.

You will just follow a link that you will get from the forum thread about the edge Driver, subscribe your hub, then select the specific edge driver you want downloaded.

Here is the link to Mariano’s channel. (It’s in the community thread, but it is kind of hard to find.)

Samsung account

Once it has been downloaded, you should be able to change to it in the smartthings app.

Sometimes it works better If you delete the device from your account, download the custom edge driver, and then, when you add the device back to your account, it should automatically pick that driver as long as there is a fingerprint match.

Thanks for the help. I have successfully installed Mariano’s driver. It solved the problem for 50%. I can switch both channels on and off now but I can only dim the right channel. I’ve send Mariano a message.
