The “unthemed” interface is so much easier to navigate. Thank you, Nathan, for adding this option. Let’s hope it helps JD with reducing “clutter” during voice navigation. Much appreciated! :grinning:

Great to hear, you’re very welcome John! I’m happy to hear that it makes things easier to navigate. JD said he was going to test it out soon so hopefully that makes it better. I am also looking into some other ways to improve voice navigation as well (on top of just voice read-outs) so hoping those can help too.

At my last company, we used to do “Follow me home” sessions where we would observe people doing their day to day activities (both with and without our products) to understand where we needed to make improvements, how we might design a new product, or update features in existing products. IMO, having individuals watch JD (and others with accessibility challenges) would go a LOOOONG way in informing what would make it work better for those individuals.

And, BTW, I’m a fan of the unthemed interface. Feels much more like the previous interface and seems far less cluttered.

You’re fixing the wrong things. This forum and its UI were functional, unlike the steadily deteriorating home automation platform this place chatters about. Why invest so much effort where it’s not needed, while ignoring (or apparently, actively exacerbating) problems with SmartThings itself?

I prefer this experience too (thank you) since the blue border to me was distracting and wasted screen real estate.

Starting to test. We did switch over to the unthemed interface. It’s definitely better, I just don’t know how everything will work in practice yet. :thinking:

I’m going to try a few posts around the forum, if anybody sees those, it just means I’m giving this a try.

Nate, I appreciate the effort you’ve been putting into this, although I do feel sad that Samsung doesn’t have a standard accessibility procedure for public facing websites.

Um, just keep using the “themed” UI, if that’s your preference, Glen. “Choice is good! :tm:

But, in all fairness, the folks that fix SmartThings itself–the hub firmware, the apps, the cloud platform, the device drivers–(most likely) aren’t the people having anything to do with the community website. I’m totally in agreement with you–plenty needs fixing in the SmartThings arena, but that’s not this user forum. I’m very pleased to see we have options–and that @JDRoberts may be able to spend more time here again without getting so frustrated with the UI! Thanks, again, @Nathan_Sterner for doing what you can to make a difference for this community… :smiley:
