T1 sensors are difficult to find, I see a few of them available for a few days (sometimes) in AliExpress but is difficult to get them, if you pair the sensors directly to a Smartthings hub you will not have any area restrictions (that only applies to Aqara hub).

Hey thanks for letting me know about AliExpress, I’ll keep a lookout for when the T1 devices are restocked. Think I’m going to pass on the older Aqara devices since they’re using an older ZigBee protocol. From what I’ve read online, they tend to be problematic - not playing nicely with other devices on the ZigBee mesh network. The T1 lineup seem like a safe choice because they’re using ZigBee v3.0 and are directly compatible with ST hubs.
