Dimming LED backlight on Aurora Double Wall Socket? (UK)

Hi,

Try with this driver version

Name Zigbee Multi Switch and Child Mc
 Version 2023-09-08T11:20:25.600858075

Hi Mariano, The GUI glitch where the status of switch 1 is shown as On when the actual physical switch is down is not seen now. However, we cannot change the dimmer settings without turning ON the switch 1.To change the dimmer of the switch, I turn on the switch, change the dimmer and after 5 secs I am turning of the switch. Thanks for your help again!

Regards,
Kiran

Try this driver version

This version read the last switch main status and if it is Off, then emit and switch main Off event with a delay of 3 sec

Hi Mariano,

The version I see when I reinstall the driver is different to 2023-09-08T18:24:54.683811793 , Is there a specific way to install the driver.

Regards,
Kiran

Sorry, the correct version is this

Hi @Mariano_Colmenarejo ,

Sorry, little late reporting but, got your new driver (as above) and behaviour is:

  • Changing dim value with switch off reports switch on in ST tile but switch remains physically off, value is reflected at switch

  • Changing dim value with switch physically on is fine, value is reflected at switch

  • Setting dim value to 0 with switch physically on dims to 0 and physically turns switch off with all correctly reported to ST tile

If it is of any significance I am doing all this manually from the ST tile and not through routines or scenes…

Thanks again :+1:

Sorry, I forgot one change.
Try this driver version.

Hi,

Still seeing the same behaviour although, my apologies, dimming to 0 does not.physically turn the switch off but does turn it off in the ST tile…

Hi,

Let’s see if I understand it correctly

When the plug main is off and you change the level, then the LED level is set, plug main = On is emitted and after 3 sec plug main = Off is not emitted?

When the level is set to 0 and the plug main is On, then the led goes off and plug main = off is emitted and the plug main is still On?

@Mariano_Colmenarejo Arrgghhhh it is always the obvious that catches one out…

Just on-boarded a new one of these units and only the master switch gets picked up with your driver. Switching to stock ST driver and slave is then picked up and all working OK.

Switching back to your driver and slave remains present but does not physically respond to on/off, master is fine.

Checked this on pre-existing switch and slave is also non-responsive :slightly_frowning_face:

Sorry should have made this more specific - switch 2 works through the main device tile, it is the secondary slave tile that is physically non-responsive. Is this tile/device redundant with your driver?

Child devices coming from other drivers, such as stock, do not work with other drivers.

When you change drivers you have to delete the old child device.

Then in preferences you can create the child device for this driver.

@Mariano_Colmenarejo thank you sir … I was just working this out for myself and was about to delete my previous post - feeling a bit stupid but serves me right for trying to multitask :joy:!

Hi @Mariano_Colmenarejo (again…),

A further observation/question that I hope the answer dows not turn out to be as obvious as the last one

I do not seem to be seeing power meter value updating for the slave switch (switch 2) in the main device whereas the main switch (switch 1) is fine, also there is no power usage available in the slave device itself - is that correct?

Amd signal metrics do not appear to be switching on/off just staying at default (on)?

Thanks…

Is correct, the child device has switch capability only.

Power meter is handled by defaults firmware libraries, then if works fine for main device it must be works fine for switch 2 component.
May be device does not send this attribute to driver.
It may not have been configured correctly if you matched it to the driver with a driver change from another driver.
You can try pairing it directly with this driver to see if it configures correctly.
If it doesn’t work and you want to send me the CLI logs of switch 2 working with load, I will analyze it?

The preference option for signal metrics only disable or enable them to be displayed in the device history

Got mine off ebay but think they have run out of them now at this price

@uncledaveghr , That appears to be the cheaper WiFi version and not the Zigbee version.

The WiFi version does not integrate directly with ST and is not the version being discussed here… mind you, if you can find the Zigbee one at that price it’d be a real bargain…

I thought the same so purchased one thinking it could be like the wifi bg one, and it turns out it is the zigbee one.
