I could have sworn I saw a way to dim a light through the ge plug-in dimmer to simulate sunset for those of us who have trouble falling asleep. Now I can’t find any reference to it. Is there a way, or was I just imagining things?
Thank you

Are you talking about dimming the light slowly over a period of time?

This might be what you are looking for:
Hi,
I have a questions,
I installed a few more dimmers last weekend and I want to do two things:
1- program one dimmer to very slowly dim a light over a period of say 30 minutes. For example:
at 7:00PM dim to 90%
at 7:05PM dim to 80%
at 7:10PM dim to 70%
at 7:15PM dim to 60%
at 7:20PM dim to 60%
etc until it turns off. so 10% dim every 5 minutes. It’s for a bird cage and I want to simulate sunset for them
How can I do that?
thank you.

Or the auto dimmer by @Mike_Maxwell
I couldn’t find anything like this, so here it is.
Brighten or dim lights based on configurable lux thresholds, three settings, 4 dimmer ranges.
Settings for each dimmer can be set individually to override the defaults if desired.
App subscribes to each dimmers on() event, then adjusts the levels to those specified.
Been using this for several months, wife and I like a lot.
The app only adjusts levels when the dimmer is initially turned on, so manual adjustments aren’t changed.
The current lux selection ranges are set up around a wideband lux sensor, such as a Figaro with an exterior exposure.
A major update for all the fans out there: (Sept 2015)
-Entire front end re done in dynamic pages, lots of them.
-Added option for per dimmer dynamic adjustment based on lux changes, allowin…
