I just bought the smart things starter kit. One feature I liked is the outlet reports energy usage to the app. Is this something that all zigbee or zwave devices do? Specifically interested in the GE zigbee switches and the GE link or CREE connected bulbs. Thanks for any guidance.
Not all devices. Mostly outlets will report energy usage. GE Zigbee switches do report energy usage, but neither GE Links or Cree Connected do. As far as I know, no smart bulb reports its energy usage, but since they’re a single standalone device it wouldn’t be hard to estimate based on dim level and rated wattage.
I believe the TCP bulbs do but they are really unreliable with Smartthings.
