[Depricated] Lock Code Manager

Manuals can be found here. http://www.kwikset.com/electronics/homeowners/technicaldocuments.aspx

The manual says just enter the code and it should unlock.

Usually you need to program one code manually first.
a. Press the program button on the interior unit once.
b. Enter in 4 to 8 digit code onto the keypad.
c. Press the “LOCK” button to save code.
d. Extend the bolt by pressing the “LOCK” button and re-enter the code to
test. The bolt should retract to the unlocked position. If it does not unlock,
repeat steps (a) through ©.

thanks for the help - seems there is a hardware problem, only 2 buttons work. i’ll take it up with the manufacturer.

I reinstalled gary’s DTH that I had for the old app. Now I have the extra buttons on my mobile app (alarm on/off and volume, auto lock, lock and leave) but that’s all. If I go to my home–>front door lock–>smartapps I see both lock manager smart apps. opening either one I selected the front door lock in the “which locks”, the only other option is “create” new user but when I try to select that nothing happens.

You may need to delete what you’ve done in the phone app. To configure the phone app go to ‘marketplace’, click on ‘SmartApps’, then scroll down to ‘My Apps’. Next click on ‘Lock Manager’. In that SmartApp select your lock(s).

Afterwards go to ‘Automations’, ‘SmartApps’, then click on the ‘Lock Manager’ app there. In that instance of the app you can add users.

I went into ‘automation’ and selected smartapps. Removed both lock manager smartapps. I then followed you instructions and same issue. When I click ‘add user’ the thinking graphic pops up for a second then goes away and nothing happens. I guess I’ll contact smartthings support unless you have any other suggestions?

It would help if I could see your live logs. I don’t think support would be able to help as this is a user developed app. Unfortunately, I’m not the developer of this app and can only offer so much support. @ethayer may be better able to help. In any case I would recommend moving your questions to the new thread I linked below

Having some issues getting this configured correctly.
First issue is this:In the ‘Type’ drop-down scroll to the bottom and select ‘Z-Wave Lock Reporting’ or ‘Z-Wave Schlage Touchscreen Lock’ I have neither of these listed.
Second issure is, I am always getting "there was an error processing your request"
Ive followed the directions about 20 times and still can’t get it to work.
Thanks

I tried posting this on github for this project but thought I’d try here too in case anyone else is seeing the same behavior. I have the push notifications turned on for Door Lock events. When I lock the door manually I get a push notification, so that works great.

I also have an automation setup to lock the door when the ST mode changes (all people leave). When this triggers I get 2 push notifications. Anyone have this happen to them? Is it something with the SmartApp or is this something about how SmartThings works to trigger the door lock? Thanks for any advice!

hello
i have moved past the hardware failure and now have a fully working kwikset smart lock keypad. i can program in a manual entry code and it works fine. i have 2 user codes programmed in to this smartthings app and the lock ignores me like i did nothing. any advice? locking and unlocking in ST app works fine but i am only getting push notifications on lock - not on unlock even though all notifications are turned on in lock manager. also of note i replaced the defective lock with the new one and the app connected to the new one without setup - so is it possible a reconnection is necessary?
thanks!
brad

I tried my best to set this up, everything is working except I can’t add new lock codes from the app. All I get is code not set. (No problem adding them on the BE469 it self). When I click Done in the app I get error There was problem processing your request.
I can see codes set on the lock in the app fine
.
In this step
"In the ‘Type’ drop-down scroll to the bottom and select ‘Z-Wave Lock Reporting’ or ‘Z-Wave Schlage Touchscreen Lock’ "

I don’t get these options, only can pick Z Wave lock or Z Wave lock with keypad.

Is this my problem ?
can anyone please help ?

Thanks to developers for all the code they share with us

You need to also install a new device handler for your lock. Once you do the option you are looking for will be available.

Follow steps 7 - 16 to add the DTH

Thanks for reply,
I did that and it shows in my device handlers
garyd9 : Z-Wave Schlage Touchscreen Lock

The entire install process for the SmartApp and DTH should be there.

As long as the DTH is published and then selected for your lock device, you should be able to set lock codes.

I followed the instructions in the firs post

This shows in my device handlers
garyd9 : Z-Wave Schlage Touchscreen Lock Published Actuator, Battery, Lock,Lock Codes, Polling, Refresh, Sensor

and this under Apps

ethayer : User Lock Manager Published Safety & Security

Yup that’s good. Did you also go to devices and select your lock? Then after doing so, select edit and change the type to Gary9’s DTH?

That’s the problem, I get only Z Wave lock (default selected)
or Zwave lock with keypad

I’ll try Z Wave lock with keypad

Did you publish the DTH? If it is not showing up I’m guessing the publish was missed.

Hi,
I am new to this community. I recently joined because I got a Schlage connect and a smarthing hub over the holidays. I’m a software engineer by trait, so I managed to figure out how to install the Lock Manager (and it’s counterparts) without too much hiccups. The instructions provided were great.

However, there is one bit of a minor annoyance I am seeing with this application. The Lock Manager app appears to be polling my Schlage device once a minute. The reason I say this is because my Schalge device log is being filled up roughly once a minute by “User Lock Manager”. I’m viewing this from the Smartthings App, under the “Recently” tab of the device.

Does anyone know if this is normal behavior? Is there a setting or code modification I can make to remove this constant polling. I fear that it may be draining the battery of my Schlage device, and also it fills up the Activity log fast.

Thanks in advance.

hey there
just wanted to update others with similar problems - hardware issues round 2 - 2 locks, 2 hardware problems! first lock had defective keypad. replacement new lock sent direct from the factory was 4 years old version!! kwikset support has been great replacement on the way - but if you have a kwikset 910, look for writing on the top next to the battery compartment - if there is none - replace it - it’s too old to support lock code manager. thanks!
